• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

So sad to hear. I had a couple of pm’s with Dav a few years ago and as was said by Darran he signed off” Best, Tony “ each time.
RIP Dav.

How very sad. He was criticised by many on here for his charts and stats, clearly too clever for them. As people have said, always polite and respectful. Thank you, Darran, for this information. As ever a gentleman. Tony would be delighted for finding closure on his prolific PS career.

RIP Dav.

Sad news.
I met Tony once, many moons ago, at an away game in Cheltenham, in the Gary Martin SCFC.CO.UK days.
His support for the Swans wasn’t skin deep but was from the heart.
He received much venom in criticism, but, as already has been said, kept polite and respectful with his posts.
He posted on varied subjects, but allowed his views to be challenged without forcing his views.

A true gentleman

RIP Tony

RIP Tony. I remember him well from the Dai Smith website days. I think I also met him on one of his visits over, but can't be sure. I think he took some flak for his statistics, which some thought were a tad 'American' and maybe more suited to baseball or American Football, but he was a real gent and always posted politely. A true jack.

Sad to read of Tony's passing. One of the most reasoned posters on the former sites and a jolly decent guy too.
Didn't believe in climate change though, which I could never get to grips with and would be really sad to see how right he was about Russia.
RIP Tony

Sad, very sad. I met him a couple of times. One I remember in particular was in the Builders Arms. A very decent chap who was intelligent and funny.

Time goes by for us all.

Sad news, used to enjoy reading his posts, an extremely intelligent person. RIP.

Indeed, sad news. I had the occasional exchange of views with him many moons ago and yes, he was intelligent and always courteous. RIP

Quick break from hols after a text this morning with this news

So sad to read. Had a couple of meals with Tony on his trips over in the past - with both friends and family - so sad to read this and learn of his passing.

Please pass on my condolences to his daughter Darran if you do speak to her again - a sadly missed poster who provided much to the Swansea City Online community.

Sleep tight friend.

just one or two emails with the guy, a man of obvious intellect who was targetted by a few trolls for that reason. Like a few on here I disagreed with much of what he posted but his presence was an addition to the boards.

From stardust to stardust.

From stardust to stardust.

Me and Dav corresponded for years and it’s fair to say we almost literally agreed on nothing. But that was part of the fun and we both enjoyed it enough to keep it going.
