I'm sure many others on here feel the same - but I feel nothing but apathy after last night's result.

We were chasing an automatic promotion spot and yet again we conceded in the dying minutes. When the goal went in, I didn't even feel angry or gutted...I didn't feel anything. It really was a 'meh' moment.

I don't know whether it's because of the lack of crowds, because of Cooperball, or because we are pretty much confirmed to be in the playoffs. Probably a combination of all three.

It was another game where I've put it up on one of my PC monitors and carried on with browsing/working on the other. There's just nothing to grab you and keep your attention when watching our games.

Normally I would be bricking it for the playoffs, and I'm sure there'll be some nerves closer to the time, but I'm just expecting 2 legs of utterly boring football ending up with us getting knocked out.

Anyone else feeling the same? I haven't even looked at the table since last night's match.

I was pleased for QPR when they scored. They deserved it. I actually enjoyed watching their attempts to play proper football against one of the worst negative anti-football teams I've ever seen. So yes, I'd turned into watching it as if I was a neutral.

If we'd had to win it, I assume I would have felt differently. So I'd expect us to be back in the mood for the play off games. Unfortunately, I can only see the end result as you describe.

The terrible thing about not getting promoted is that we know we’re in for another year of this next year, only worse. Other than that I could t give two fucks if we don’t go up. No way we deserve to anyway but if we happened to fluke it at least there’d be some earlier excitement before reality hits and the rot progresses.

I felt the same. Not sure if it's the right word, but I "enjoyed" watching QPR's movement in and around the box, and lamented why on earth we can't do that - I think we have enough quality to play that way, if coached/instructed imo. QPR certainly deserved the win on balance.

The playoffs offer more "entertainment" (if you can call it that), but little more for me. Cooper in charge of us in the PL is frightening, in the Championship boring.

The possibility of going up under Brenda was a different vibe entirely. We had a style that was exciting and difficult to play against. There was optimism that if we did make it we'd make a real go of it.
If Coops takes us up jesus help us. We'll make Sheff utd look like perennial winners. It literally scares the shyte outa me what could happen under this guy.
That said, of course we'd love the adventure...but reality will hit in the first few games.
Ideally if the miracle occurred, then get shot of him and get someone who'd give us a fighting chance.

The way we have been playing lately makes Cardiff an attractive watch (At least they create chances).

I saw total apathy from the players themselves in the second half, as if they'd given up after hearing the Watford result. Don't get me wrong, the first half was bad enough.

I can't for the life of me get why he's ditched the 4-3-3 formation that saw an upturn against Millwall. It's as if he was too scared to choose between Connor and Naughton so he came up with the silly plan of playing Connor in midfield so he wouldn't have to grow a pair and choose.

I don't think we need to worry about not being up to it if we sneek in via the playoffs, as we stumble towards the end of the campaign, Bournemouth have found form that will breeze them past us and Brentford. It's between them and Barnsley now.

Now that it's over in terms of second can we hope to see us play with some of the freedom that's been drummed out of us in the past 2-3 months? I ain't holding my breath.

Given the scares we'd had and Austen coming on it was only time before they scored.
Substitutions were, yet again, too late and not what was going to gain a point let alone 3.
Same thing since he arrived.

I am as one with the almost total apathy experienced by other posters and had an almost perverse pleasure in watching QPR score their well deserved goal.
Yes, logic says that we are where we deserve to be on the basis of teams' results. But, let us not kid ourselves, the Championship is a pretty poor league and being third more than flatters us.
I have never felt such churning disappointment at our performances and our Manager's lack of team management. Whether or not we are in the same or better place at this point in the season as our rise under Brendan is not the point: we then had a top Manager and a committed team of players who would largely transfer well to the Premiership and we had good reason to be optimistic about or promotion chances.

Do the players really want promotion? 90% of them know they are not good enough for premiership football, and wouldn't get a game in the top division. They'd either have to uproot and leave or be content with a place on the bench at best, every game. They don't move to the ball to receive a pass and let their marker nip in and steal it, and they are like statues at throw ins, not moving into spaces. They just don't want the ball. Not really signs of players who want promotion.

I watched a bit of Brentford v Cardiff beforehand - and actually enjoyed some of Cardiff's play. It wasn't just a case of wanting them to beat Brentford either, they played some decent stuff. It's OK, I'll have a shower in a minute.

We were so poor last night it's difficult to know where to start. Apart from Guehi - who was a class above everyone else - there wasn't a decent performance from anyone. We are SO slow in moving the ball - epitomised by Grimes, due to his one-footedness and turning circle of an oil tanker. And no-one was showing for the ball - we are completely static. I thought we'd be better without Hourihane but we weren't.

Starting Routledge was a huge mistake. People have got all excited lately because Wayne was back - when in truth he did very little in those games. Last night showed him at his worst. A gorgeous ball to him from Lowe - just about the only thing Lowe did all night - and Wayne, as usual when in a 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper, messes it up. That's nothing new though - he's never been good in those situations. What was glaringly obvious was that a proper striker (Cullen maybe?) would have hit it with his left foot. Instead, because he's so ridiculously one-footed (worse than Grimes) he tried to control with the wrong foot (his right, the only one he has) and the chance was gone. He did hit the post, via a deflection, but also missed a decent chance where the defender blocked his shot - when he was too slow getting his shot away. I hope we've seen the last of Wayne now.

Dhanda looked completely useless when he came on. We need to get rid.

Woodman's distribution was woeful. Again.

Strangely, when Cooper realised that 443 wasn't working, and he reverted to 352 at half time, I thought we looked better. But that soon wore off once QPR worked us out.

Anyone who watched on Swans TV will have heard all the sighs coming from Kristian O'Leary. I felt exactly the same. The game went all meh for me once Watford went ahead. In truth, we don't deserve an automatic place. We barely deserve a playoff place.

Yes, been switched off emotionally since we came back from the international break and following the insipid defeats to Birmingham and Preston. A couple of months ago it seemed that we had arrived at the top half of the Championship as a good team that wins gritty games, but that has been shown to be false and we mostly fluked our position until the 532 system was worked out by the other teams.

I would like us to fluke a promotion via the play offs because I believe we need the financial injection to a) get the Yanks thinking of selling up / moving on; b) providing us with some financial stability for when we quickly get relegated and c) can hopefully start rebuilding a proper football team when Cooper is moved on as part of this process.

However, I'm not even assuming we'll make the play offs yet. We have shown that we have the potential to lose the next 3 games. Bournemouth should go above us tonight when they beat Millwall and Brentford just need another draw to do the same. That just leaves Barnsley and Reading requiring 6 and 9/10 points respectively in their last 4 games to squeeze us out (like we did to Forest last year). If Reading beat Luton tonight and then us on Saturday and it's really on !

Lets be honest lads, how many watched last night? and for how many minutes out of the 90+.

Castaway in a room on my own , uninterrupted, game on. I should imagine 60 minutes out of the 90, apathy or boredom swung my eyes to other things !!!

FIFA moaning about young people turning away from the game, there was a possible culprit last night, football, all round has now gotta look at itself, these last few days its shown the World what the modern game is about, and TV coverage is showing up the cheats.

The standard answer is they are professionals and will give it all regardless as to whether promotion would be a bad thing for them personally

The standard answer is b0llocks, they are human beings , of course it will influence their attitude

My guess is that it is more Cooper's input that his affecting their attitude ... professional sportsmen just want to win after all !
