• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Vital tends to be as close to a nailed on source as you'll find for the Swans, and he seems to be implying that there will be change over the International Break, be it Sheehan or the recruitment team

I’m thinking Sheehan, we can’t go changing the recruitment team agin, surely 🤷🏻

I suppose that the acid test for the recruitment team will be how a different manager deals with the tools he's given.

Surely it has to be the manager and then see if the new guy has any more luck with the squad.

Saying that, if vital is onto something and he is pretty good as a rule then it implies that there is a lack of happiness with both parties.

Something isn't right behind the scenes by the way Burgess has posted online.. Chico and Monk with the brick comes to mind, and we know how that ended and led to where we are now

Let's not all start a debate about recruitment team lol. Not saying you are daps. But Sheehan tactics is clear for everyone. I might be new to this forum, but I have been a reader for a while and I don't think I have seen so many fans comment on Sheehan tactics as much as many managers in recent times. And when I say that it's like even those like me who are not super on it with tactics can see that something is off. Sheehan talks a good game but we are set up to defend and try and score like we are having a 4 hour match. Sheehan didn't get the memo that you can't slow the pace down and set up to defend a 1 - 0 lead. Nor can you go all out from the 45th minute and leave gaps open. Putting players in odd positions and also experimenting like he doesn't know his team.

Mental. Absolutely mental.

Surely the manager has to be the first change? There has already been so much change behind the scenes in the last 12 months, especially in the transfer department and Worth/Dimi/his current username has been trusted to lead so I do not understand what you would be judging him on to give cause to replace him. We will not be able to replace the whole squad again, so will have to commit to some of these players for a couple of years at least and work on adding to them. Trying them out under a new coach is the only way we will get some more evidence on if they have more to offer. At the very least with the window coming up fast it feels important to ensure the players are being signed for the club and not for the manager especially if they are permanent deals.

The manager has to take the hit first and I think it's inevitable now. I think the squad is decent but it's an absolute mess currently and Sheehan is just grabbing in hope that things turn.

Saying that, we have not got a proper back up for our RB who is having an absolute mare, we have no specialised attacking central midfielder who is able to link play with our forward players which falls massively on the recruitment team.

Getting the excuses in early just in case the next head coach sucks, eh? 😁
