• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

The initial delta to fix the mess that Martin made was encouraging.

It was and still is Marge that fixed the defence that Martin broke; Sheez instilled structure, confidence and belief: our senior players stepped up and out of Martin’s quagmire of confusion.

Williams has recently had a detrimental effect on the sum of our parts. We regressed to the bad old days of tippy happy tortuous keep ball - his ploy is to congest the middle to boost possession - at all costs: Inverted FBs, wingers that mainly only cut- back and recycle; dropping the pivot in btn the CHs. It’s a playbook we’ve seen fail spectacularly.

Although we sit just outside the play offs half way through the season with a bang average squad.

We’ve competed in every single game this season no matter who we’ve played, not losing by more than a single goal.

If people can’t see progression being made under this management then I give up.

I'd be gutted if Williams left. He gets the club and as you say making progress. I think we are on to something with him and we need stability not another change.

An extra 2-3 attacking options would see us in playoffs comfortably imo

From what I understand there’s players lined up for January.

I think we’ll be there or there abouts with the play offs at the end of the season.

I still think it’s probably a season too soon - but hopefully we build for a real stab at promotion next season

Say what you want about Williams, but continuity plays a big part in the trajectory of a football club.

At the end of the day, if WBA approach us through the correct channels, and if the dangled carrot is a big one, then he's off. Who goes with him and who stays is another question altogether.

Any names or positions? Have you heard anything re Williams or reckon it's all bollocks?

Not sure why the Baggies are interested in him. Our away game there in the summer was a shocker and tactically inept.
Didnt RM turn them down? or say he wasnt interested? perhaps the man who lost his case said the man youwnat is Swansea boss who knows?

I havent heard anything re names positions (although I gather there’s still interest in Noel Milleskog)…

And didn’t hear anything re names whispers yesterday about Williams WBA - nothing mentioned in the press room at all… but I’d be surprised if he wasn’t on their list.

Quote me if I’m wrong but I’m sure he wasn’t here until Duff came in.
Left when Coops left - helped build the top3 performing defence that Coops built.
Wanted nothing to do with Martin’s bonkers ways

came back post Martin’s bonkers ways and no doubt will want nothing to do with Williams’ bonkers ways if Williams persists with his self indulgent bonkers ways

Much as I don't care if Williams naffs off, I'd prefer if he didn't go somewhere that has the resources to poach anyone decent at the club. So reluctantly, as I still think he's a wrong 'un for us in himself if allowed his penchant to bore the shit out of everyone, and keep picking stupid teams and subs, I'm in the keep him and hope whatever he is currently doing or not doing results in us continuing the uptick in form and playing style of the last couple of games.

I am minded though, that QPR and Luton didn't even try and play us, and the last team that came at us was Hull, so we need to see more improvement against teams that actually take us on and teams above us.
