• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Watched the Ronan Keating NYE show last night, it was watchable seeing as it was NYE etc, but not my taste, the Shaun Ryder NYE show was the best one I've seen back a few years ago.

The firework display was fantastic again last night, notsure I'd want to sample it actually being there though.
I was actually cringing watching Keating gyrating around the dance floor like a teenager in a boy band. Have some standards mun!

Stranger Things finale - holy s**t

What a triumph
Agreed, just finished watching it. Thought it stuck the landing superbly, which is going to annoy all the dickheads out there who are furious they dared to have a gay character in the show.

We said the same about the fireworks. A great spectacle but actually being in all those crowds in London on New Year’s Eve feels like it would be a special kind of hell.
Those tickets are like gold dust.

I’d rather stick rusty nails in my eyes than be there in those crowds.

Good on tv though.

They’re about £55 or so and you get a £20 quid discount if you’re a London council tax payer.
Hmm, not cheap. You’d also be a captive audience for food and drink once inside, I guess. That’s going to be a tenner for a small cup of mulled wine territory.

I'd rather be at home NYE these days, not bothered going anywhere for yrs, not even to friends, went out yesterday afternoon for food with brother and his family then came home, was home before 5.

I was on taxi duty last night, 3am pick up from Wind Street. I wasn’t bothered in the slightest as I’m not normally one for NYE, and have already over indulged since the 19th. The dry out starts now (temporary suspension tonight 🤣 and almost certainly tomorrow).

I'm working tomorrow, wish I had booked it off now though, booked days off mid January though so not to bothered.

Yep. And they sell the 100,000 tickets with ease. It’s mainly tourists / visitors plus groups of teenagers and twenty somethings I think.

The only time I’ve been on the Embankment for a big event is during the Diamond Jubilee when the Queen sailed down the Thames on that barge thing. It was the start of the Olympics summer in London and everyone was partying for weeks and that was good fun but the crowds were unbelievable so they limit it now.
