Am I the only one that finds it extraordinary that when something like that happens to a player, any player the medical staff have to stand on the sidelines until the referee checks player himself before giving the medical staff permission to come on to the pitch?

I find it perplexing the number of referees who don't seem to know the rules of the game

When Franco was down injured and needing treatment and the Hull player got sent off for that very challenge the ref made him wait 30 seconds to come back on

I find it comical how often players go down comatose whenever a football hits them, its a way to stop the game with very little jeopardy.

Yes but this wasn’t one of those instances.
Poleaxed though? For someone to be poleaxed they would basically be knocked clean out, concussion would be a given and a stretcher job. I get what your saying but too many players take the piss just to break the play up. If you want to talk poleaxed let's talk Mateta v Millwall ...

Well that’s my point he could well have been knocked clean out, nobody knew at the time and the ref clearly saw what happened and those seconds it took the ref to walk over to him could have been crucial.

Absolutely, makes the play acting by the majority of players more absurd.
