WHERE ARE WE GOING ? AND AN INTERIM PLAN B...

Nope, not new news I agree, but well summarised by Phil as to our current position. And lessons not being learned.

It also reminds us that there's little point in slagging the Manager off with the poor resources he has.

My original post also asked the question as to what on earth is the strategy of the current owners.

Best comment so far from A-NH

"I am becoming increasingly sympathetic to the idea of going down to League One, because I strongly suspect the only reason the Yanks are lingering on here is because we're still one tier away from the PL riches. I believe they'll sell up if/when that carrot is no longer dangling"

Some very valid points raised.

The manager shouldn't absolved of any blame though. We ended the game without a recognised striker on the pitch, which is extremely questionable since we have scored a goal for about fifty seven years.

This is typical weak Swansea fans the like Russell grew tired of. Theres no place for downright negative, anywhere and defo not at a Club and place like Swansea who needs every morsel of good luck and positivity.

Forget owners and money and the like. Focus on football and fixes. The now.

The biggest fix is Williams who is a failure.

Williams is dragging down Russell’s legacy, Copper’s legacy, even Duffs legacy.
The fella is totally a fraud and out of his depff.

Reckon Bellers would get a tune out of our strikers and front third, all day.
Reckon Trunds, Bony, Curt, Dobbers would to.
Do what Brighton does and get a forwards coach who speializes on forwards play and scoring and winning. Happy days.

Ditch Williams.
Just like Russell ditched Williams.

The above is obviously a wind up 😂

For any "negative" read "realist".

For Russell's "legacy" read "bore fest".

For Duff's "legacy" read " nil"

To suggest " forget owners and money " - that's delusional.

Williams cannot be absolved of blame of course...but get real, the owners are the big problem and will continue to be so.

Never mind Bellers and co, if the quality or potential isn't there - which it isn't - then little chance of improvement.

I admire your positivity though ...but then again read " head in sand" 😂

It's clearly someone on a wind-up, they're not even subtle about it 😂

We are never going to score unless we get a new striker in January. But with the poor supporting service, I wonder how much difference it might actually make !

Anyway - until then I suggest a 7-3-0 formation. Drop "all" our "strikers". Target is continuous nil-nil scorelines. Just go as far as the halfway line, stop, play sideways, then backwards. Repeat. Oh...that sounds familiar though !

If we can't get a striker in January, then carry on the tactics. Unfortunately, this will only give a max 47 points for the season. If there are three worse teams than us, then maybe we will scrape by. Last year Plymouth managed to save themselves with 51 points.

But seriously, apart from the defence (and on the whole Vigouroux is ok, despite yesterday) - the rest of the squad/system is garbage. Maybe Franco excepted, Eom at times

I've given up any expectation of entertainment. Just draw however we can, or even fluke a win by an OG ( Norwich ! )

Year on year it's a notch downwards with overall poor player recruitment. Can't blame the Manager for everything....I reckon even Pep would struggle !

Just what is the strategy of our current owners ? Serious question !
Congratulations to Josh at least "winning something"

This thread isn't about who deserved what in a rubbish game. And then posters abusing each other.

The issues are far wider than that.

These paragraphs from Phil's excellent article are what matter...and where we go from here. A swop with Wrexham is quite possible !

"Swansea City are currently paying the price for yet another transfer window where lessons were supposed to have been learned and would not be repeated. Missed chances was the statement from Luke Williams but the simple reality is our upper management team have yet again failed to deliver a squad that is enough to compete week in week out in the Championship.

This is a side where the creativity has slowly been sucked out of it by a constant policy of selling on our best players but failing to replace them adequately.

Right now it would be easy to blame the manager and ultimately they are usually the people who take the fall for a bad run of results but this runs deeper than this, it comes from a systematic dismantling over time of everything that was good about Swansea City"
All that is on Levien he's sucking the life out of us, noway is Coleman the main man here despite what he may say, fact is he said that they'd get things right in the Summer Transfer window we didn't, we got players in, but not the strikers/s we needed, anyone notice that he was very quiet over the period after the season ended and mostly since, Levien has clipped is wings obviously, same with Silverstein, Levien is and will always be the yes or no man for as long as they are here and I don't see that changing anytime soon, despite the rumours I just can't see him letting go, hope I'm wrong of course.

Vigouroux Eom and Franco good signings though. Problem is that you just know that the owners will cash in on Eom and Franco insread of taking us to the next level with their “investment”.

Eom. Eom. Eom. Cash in on him. Jesus, be lucky to get another team to give us a set of tracksuits for him. Nowhere near a Championship player. Same as Ronald and Bianchini.
