• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

From watching how we finished last season to how we started this season .
The lack of pace and intensity.
The emphasis appeared to keep the ball to .
Lack of ambition to hurt the opposition.
I could be wrong that's my opinion.

Think listening to O'Dear was Shee's main downfall.
Think he wanted Shee's sacked so he could get the job. Constantly in Shee's ear all game.

Wish Shee's well.
Life didn't work out well for him here.
Think he deserves a chance somewhere.

Last time wigan went after a manager from us, the press release featured an interview with an empty chair 🤣

Sheehans downfall was moving away from what got him the job in the first place.

When you're a caretaker the pressure is off, nothing to lose and all that. The day he was made permanent risk versus rewards became a lot more important, he's in the hot seat and the buck stops with him.

The notion that the man he brought in to support him was after his job is a bit of a bold accusation based on the fact he's offering him advice through a game.

Aye, so blame the coach, that sounds right ✅

He was brought in as coach , he would have an input how we played .
New coach new ideas .
What do you think changed ?

Think the O Dea thing is yes based on rumours. But what was being reported and again.. Pinch.. The players was unsettled by his approach. Also it was clear on match days that Sheehan and him was having a few heated debates. Add to that the way he left and attitude to the club and players. Also the way the last coaching staff did a better job. Who knows. Yes I'm in the camp something was off.. But I have no facts to this.. Just my simple mind 😜😜

I don't believe it but let's suppose that O Dea's influence screwed us while Sheehan was the head coach this season.
Doesn't say much for Sheehan if he lets someone below him wield so much influence on the team and results suffer.
If Sheehan is that weak he's pathetic.

Who was reporting that the players were "unsettled by his approach"?

Exactly whichever way you look at it the buck stops with Sheehan. Personally think it's a bunch of speculation people have come up with in order to blame someone else and paint Sheehan in a better light. Regardless he was the one who wanted O'Dea and he was the one who chose to listen to him even though he is the main man.
