Williams out

The decision to let Franco not finish a game or him not to play 2 games a week will have very little do to with Luke Williams and pretty much everything to do with the strength and conditioning team.
Nah. I'm not buying that a 24 year old Portuguese midfielder isn't fit enough to last two consecutive games by this point of the season. On the balance of probabilities it's far, far more likely to be a tactical decision.

These players are monitored now within an inch of their lives… their statistics will decide how long they get on the grass…

I guess Williams could go against their advice - but they’re probably seeing a big drop off in fitness and performance come 60+ mins so bring him off.
Modern day football, it's evolved and it's like the cycle with your dad or grandad.....these guys past a certain age don't see it and won't see it.
Throwing in words like pragmatic makes it all sound efficient, it's like a word that automatically flips a switch and makes it work instantly.

It's like the 70s, 80s and 90s when English pragmatic approach would win the day against the foreign teams in major competitions.

Football is evolving, it's like the discussions the old guys had with their dads re emerging all over again.....but these guys are now in their late 50s and 60s who are now the old guys saying don't talk such nonsense.

Nailed.

Probably have the words in response
Nonsense
Back in the day

Are you OK Dapsy? Everything alright at home? I'm just asking because whilst you've always been faintly ludicrous, lately that seems to be ramping up a bit.

We're all here for you buddy.

Fine thanks Doc.

Take it you don't agree with me by that response!?

This is a Williams Out thread, with a cogent Williams Out post.
Your post is an irrelevant sideshow, as per. Keep up.
OK Boomer.

How about rather than being an apologist for the previous owners, you look at the fact they they've appointed underwhelming managers and while they have spent money in the transfer market, a lot of it has been spent badly.

The team has been getting weaker season on season for some time now. The idea of Cullen being one of our best players would have been laughable a few seasons ago, but that's where we are now. While I certainly think Luke could improve in different areas, he has a mid-table squad in the top half of the table currently and certainly should not be considered as being in danger of losing his job, which he clearly isn't in the eyes of the owners.

I don't really understand why people just can't see it's not binary in or out, but that there are blatantly visible areas where he could improve things in terms of selections, tactics and substitutions. We all want him, and the team to improve beyond what we've seen. Can he? Can they? Who knows, but repeating the formula so far aint going to pull up any trees.

I described the first half yesterday as the bastard son of Cooperwang and Martinball and that's what it was...just awful. If we hadn't nicked a rather fortunate goal to colour things at the death, there would only be the saving grace that plymuff were worse. Second half was better until he made three ludicrous subs at once that threatened an easy win. I think Dr WoB nailed it earlier in the thread.

😁 Ahhh right.

You disagree aswell I take it.
In general, about anything? Probably not.

Oh, except for Obafemi just being a fat lazy poor attitude sod throwing away any talent he has, whether he sleeps or not.

Never mind two games in a week. How many full 90 mins has he got under his belt, it doesn’t feel like many?

Will try and find the stats later.

We've been here before with Ntcham. Loads of people believed that he was regularly subbed on about 60-70 minutes for fitness issues, when in reality it was tactical. It's not a stretch to believe that a coach who spent a lot of time under Russy might have picked up some of the same ideas.

I find that easier to believe than a 23/24 year old midfielder in prime physical shape can't last 90 minutes with nearly half the season gone.

Boomers survived DDT, lead paint, lead petrol, no seatbelts, chain smoking in the house …. How dare you! 🤣
