Today is World Arthritis Day, how many here suffer from this horrible disease?

Luckily(?), I’ve been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis early on and I’m taking medication to try to keep it in check. Over the years I’ve suffered from it, I’ve only had one really bad episode, which was not pleasant to say the least. Unfortunately, the medication is immuno-suppressive and means that I’ve been shielding through this pandemic, but without the meds I dread to think how I would be now.
In the UK, over 10 million people have some form of arthritis, and it’s not just older people, kids can be affected too.
If you’ve ever had, or spoken to someone who has had, gout (a form of arthritis) then you probably know how painful it is.
Take some time to read up on arthritis and maybe you could pick up on symptoms early, which would give you an opportunity to speak to your doctor and catch it before it can do too much damage

I have osteoarthritis , in both knees, and ankles, lower back and neck, one worn knee and one badly worn ankle, that's really curtailed what I can do , and effectively changed my life, I am limited what pain killers I can take due to other medication, but on the verge of asking for something as its got worse this last month or so.

Its a pain in the arse , thats not arthritic!!!! :D

I’ve suffered from psoriasis since my twenties and that developed into psoriatic arthritis, at first it just affected the small joints in my hands and feet but spread slowly to the bigger joints. Then one morning it hit me like a sledge hammer ankles, knees, hips, hands, elbows, spine, shoulders, neck and worst of all the sternum which stopped me breathing properly. It took several years to finally get a treatment that worked for me but I’ve been injecting myself once a week with Etanercept for a few years now and it was truly life changing.

Getting the right medication is the key, the consultant tried a few different ones with me and 🤞 at the moment methotrexate is doing the job. I had one previously which gave me the worst diarrhoea you could imagine. Two weeks of constant visits to the loo and losing a stone in weight was definitely not the right one for me.🙄
