Cracking final, Smith's ability to keep hitting big scores was incredible fair play, Peter Wright's dogged resistance was also incredible looked down and out and lost a couple of times, then just produced flurries of great darts, both deserved to win.

Smith is a class act and will win one one day but he needs to overcome his nerves first - he was 2-0 down today before he blinked almost

Don't know what was going on with Wright and his Darts he wasn't happy with either set, think it was Smiths for the taking, but couldn't keep it altogether, sadly for him.

Agreed, pound for pound the best player in this tournament.

Was that the first set? I thought that was more to do with a draught or someone said a wasp?

Yeah, I saw the wasp on the screen. That may well have been what he was pointing out. Either way they both threw doubles like me

Wright seems out of sorts tonight, maybe the late finish yesterday has taken something out of him.

I enjoyed the whole tournament really. Shame a Welshboy didn't win it. I think Clayton will be ready in a couple of years.

Ally Pally seems to have a problem with wasps in Winter. A couple of years ago I think it was, the snooker Masters had loads of them interrupting play, and a referee actually got stung.

They need to get the Rentokil boys in.

Same here, Bryn. Much more enjoyable now that Taylor has retired and the winners are much less predictable. I watched a lot of the early rounds as well, this was helped by being off work from the 17th.
