Yup. Whoever it is automatically becomes president if the incumbent dies or resigns.
No I mean is the person she’s announced as her vice, significant in anyway? Good / bad, likely to win extra votes because of xxx?

Oh I see sorry. Never heard of him before today to be honest. I’ll probably start paying attention closer to the actual election.

I hadn't heard of him either, but reading up on him, he sounds like a good pick. Very down to earth, comes from a rural, middle America background, worked in commerce before going into teaching, ex high school football coach, long time National Guardsman. Has passed a lot of good progressive legislation in Minnesota.
Compare and contrast with Trump's pick, oddball Vance, who even staunch Republicans are saying is a disastrous choice. What else would you expect from convicted fraudster and sex criminal, the Orange Manbaby?

How important is the choice of the vice person? Is this appointment significant in any way?
It helps shore up whichever State he/she is governor of, plus widens the appeal by balancing up the ticket. So youngish looking black/asian woman; older looking, white haired, white man. Strangely he also seems more progressive than her. He’s also an impressive speaker when I’ve seen him and would dismember Vance and Trumper.

If it doesn’t work out, god help them and us.

It’s a feelgood appointment. He’s very popular and pretty socialist, from America’s happiest state. Ex-serviceman, ex-teacher, ex-football coach, gave all kids free school meals. Basically picked to be the opposite of JD Vance. It is important because voters may decide on a president given their choice of running mate.

They’re sending a message and I don’t think Trump and Vance have found anything to come back with yet.

I heard some pundit say today that Trump was regretting Vance already and doesn’t know what to do with him.

Trump has already brought up that Walz was arrested 29 years ago for drink driving and speeding - but failed to add that the charge was reduced to reckless driving, and that Walz has been tee total ever since.

I watched his first campaign speech last night alongside Harris. It’s easy to see why she chose him. He speaks well, is self deprecating and funny and isn’t afraid of speaking plainly. He also looks like everyone’s dad so the republican attempts to portray him as some kind of radical communist probably aren’t going to work. I liked him, but I still know very little about him. And I haven’t got a vote anyway so it doesn’t really matter what I think.

Oh, how awful, reckless driving thirty years ago.
I'm astonished the orange faced c*nt has got the brass neck to bring it up, considering he's a convicted sex criminal, financial fraudster, and is facing charges of encouraging electoral fraud and violent insurrection against the legally elected government.
