Just opened a bottle of Wairau Cove Gisborne Chardonnay that a customer give me a few days ago to have with our Tea, its bloody lovely to. Its a wine from New Zealand.

Anyone tried it?

Now that you have mentioned this I’ll get a few bottles of this tomorrow.

Just flicking back through some old photos on the phone, Tesco had an offer on about ten years ago and to this day I’m sure it was an error; it was something like two bottles for £8 or three for a tenner. I cleared the shelf in Tesco, went back the next morning for another trolley full and went to Fforestfach for more. It was turning on me by the time we had got through 80 odd bottles in the space of a few months. The thought of a gooseberry would give me heartburn.

So, it’s time to awaken a few memories 🤪

Its a lovely wine, not seen it before and was expecting it to be a bit like vinegar, but what a surprise it turned out to be, another wine and vineyard added to the list, £8.50 in Tesco well worth it in my opinion.

Will aim for a slurp tomorrow. Also aiming to pick up a Neath_Jack Lidl pepper sauce special, so steak & chips and a vino blanco evening meal.

Does sound a nice sip that, can I ask a question for some of the wine lovers out there, how the hell do you pace yourself? I haven't drunk wine for years, but it goes down so easy, even Blossom Hill :), that's why I knocked it on the head, I had one of the worst hangovers EVER! So that's why I don't drink it anymore..

It must be hard not too just guzzle it down? Well if's nice, that's what you do ain't it?

Which I learned the hard way.. :(

Slightly acidic, hence my reference to gooseberry. I’m much more partial to a dry or acidic white than a sweet white.

Not sure I pace myself either. Drinking beer means I’m regularly up for a leak, whether that be at home or out. Whereas having a bottle of wine or two can mean being sat down for a few hours without moving, only to find that I then cannot move 😆

It seems that we inhabit the same world. Except I tend to drink red much more than white... if white, dry!
