• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Now that Lidl has been mentioned…
You’ll have to go a long way to find a bottle of red this good for five quid, give or take. Had a load of the 2020 vintage but finished the last one yesterday, then started on these from 2021 which is just as good.

As happens occasionally through her work my missus got gifted a bottle of wine recently. I was straight onto the Vivino app to see whether it was worth hanging onto. £130 a bottle. Lordy.

I proudly announced this to some guests who burst out laughing. "We've seen that for about eight quid in Tesco".

After they'd left I was straight back onto Vivino and there it was for £7.95.

What's going on there, then?

In general, the app isn’t very good. In your specific case it’s either incorrectly identified the wine, or routed you to a seller who wants to try and rip you off. Funny story, you might get ribbed for this for a while 😂.

Looks good, Coops, another Navarra wine. Everybody raves about Rioja, but for me the neighbouring region of Navarra produces stuff just as slurpable.

Ribera del Duero is better than rioja generally, for cheap and cheerful the merlot in mercadona is not too shabby either

Yellow Tails Merlot and their Malbec goes down well here, it used to be the Shiraz.

Their Pino Grigio and their White Jammy roo is pleasant enough as well.

Haul ass down to Lidl, Max. This bottle above is as nice as YT and two quid cheaper.

I concur. Have been to Pamplona a few times with work and always enjoyed a slurp in the evening. I’m possibly a little biased because of it.

We were up Hereford beginning of the month stopped at Premier inn, I was sorting carpark and luggage out after we sorted room out, Mrs came out to car park then went back in and found a ring on floor in reception so she handed it in, Customer who lost it was inconsolable at the thought she'd lost it and was delighted it was handed in and bought the Mrs a bottle of Vino Pomona Catarratto Pinot Grigio which she handed in to reception to give it to here.
We tried it tonight as we had a Chinese as its the Mrs Birthday so she opened it, very nice to smooth as you like,
