• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Bit of a blip recently but good news.

Good asset at this level and still only 24

spot on

Case of club getting pelters either way again - some moaning that he's signed and no
Doubt some wiuld if he left
He's a cracking defender when he's asked to defend.

Personally glad he's signed a contract.

Great video. Hopefully it’s Darling next but I’m less hopeful about this.
Video content has been top notch lately.

Not that bothered by Darling if he wants to sign then great, if not fuck him.

We've seen plenty leave in the past who have gone on to find the grass isn't greener.

Alfie Mawson left for Fulham because Gareth Southgate told him he'd need to be playing Premier league football to be considered for England, now out of the game due to injury...

Dorus de Vries didn't fair much better when he walked out on us like Pratley did.

DeVries didn't really walk out on us. We obviously needed to upgrade for the Prem and we did. Can't blame him for not wanting to be a second choice.

Pratley had struggled for regular starts (for some reason behind both Gower and Orlandi) as the season had progressed so we can't really blame him for looking elsewhere either.

He'd already made his choice. Thought going to Wolves was a better option than staying with us. Same goes for Pratley.

They both thought they were better than they actually were after we offered them contracts.

Or Jordi Gomez (albeit on loan), Jason Scotland. The list went on back then
The list goes on. We can add Britton to the list as well.

Not many players have left us on to do that well.

We'd have brought in a new #1 whether DeVries had stayed or not, and Pratley knew months in advance that Rodgers wasn't all that fussed.

Both made the only sensible decisions available to them.

Rogers thought very highly of Dorus but the money on the table clearly wasn’t enough.

I think Rogers also tried to take him to Liverpool after Wolves got relegated.

I think we had something like £15m for him when we sold him. Decent money for him, would have represented a good profit.

Tom Williams was a cracker, pimped himself around thinking he was good enough to play at Inter Milan, ended up moving to Wycombe Wanderers, then slid further and further down the football pyramid finishing up at Hashtag United.
His missus wasn't bad looking though in fairness...

In an interview when asked why he signed for Wolves, Dorus came out with the words to the effect of “wolves expect to stay up, Swansea hope to stay up”. How’d that work out for him 🤣
