I remember a time when there were gentlemen's agreements that players wouldn't play if they were transferred just before the sides played each other

He won't play on the weekend and will sign on deadline day.

We’ve spent money, but unfortunately on two fullbacks who can’t defend, a CB who can’t play and two strikers who can’t score. And on paying off managers. Wasting money hand over fist.

Yeah, agreed. That winter window when Cooper needed a bit of help with the squad was possibly the sliding door moment. Recruit a couple of decent players then and we’d have had a good shout of automatic promotion. It’s been downhill ever since (and really sh*t since summer 23).

Roberts would be a free agent. Would depend on his personal demands for a contract. Forget it though it won’t happen. However much he may claim to want to return, if a better offer comes along (which it will) he will take it.

If he’s going, that would be helpful this Saturday. Knowing our luck he’d pick up a season ending injury. If he’s off, he’s hopefully played his last game here and we move on.

Rumours of a bid gone in for a Swedish midfielder for 3M. Looks like the Grimes money will be put straight back in for a replacement which again might be a bit unnecessary.

I think sense would be to use that money to get a couple in.
