When you read the Trust minutes (always worth a check) it says it all when the SD update opens with "We were grateful to Julian for his time"

The Trust are a part-owner of the club, Winter is an employee - time is the least he can give a director of the football club. And he doesnt need to be thanked for it.

They are in awe of him aren't they. because of his position and because they, and our SD are totally talentless boots full of nowt. I'd give someting vital to get Lisa sitting there.

Worth noting there’s nothing requiring the supporter director to be a trust board member. Although you’d maybe a special sort of lunatic to want to take up that role in the circumstances.
