• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Nope, I'm guessing I haven't had a pint in what...25 years. The odd glass of wine with food very rarely, but that's it. 🤷‍♂️
Just curious but did you not like the taste, were you on vodka etc?, religious reasons? That's a serious question because way back in the 1880s there was a very big temperance movement in Wales. I myself do know a couple of people who just stopped, but I enjoy it myself.

No reason matey, just not for me. I suppose I used to drive everywhere, so it wasn't an option. Simple as that really. 👍

I enjoy a beer, but seldom drink these days.

The thieves that run one of the bars in Bristol Airport charged me £8.20 for a pint of Neck Oil a couple of months ago. I did ask before I made the purchase which was the cheapest pint and the guy told me they were all the same price !! A coke was also extortionate.

I was in the local spoons a couple on months ago and they had real ale on offer at £1.99 a pint, not keen on spoons but was meeting a few mates so had no choice.

Had a bit of a do at The Village Hotel a few weeks ago , driving so parked up .

Pint of orange and lemonade please , £5.50p for that mate .

Second drink was a very small bottle of coca cola which cost £3 , I had a free straw luckily .

Sorry J2J had you confused with J123 🤦‍♂️
I have been good lately. Well I think so anyway, dramatically decreased my beer intake, and also going for what is known as 'gnats piss lager', you know the stuff, that you can basically drink all day, and still not get too pissed.

And the only reason, I just hated the hangovers..

Last home game I went few weeks back, zero beer, and I thoroughly enjoyed, not a great fan of the beer they serve up down there, or the prices! :)
