Summer Transfer Window

Yes, because Luke Williams was a halfwit who didn't know a winger from a midfielder. Let's not pretend that the squad was the reason for our struggles that we had last season as Sheehan amply demonstrated otherwise. Indeed, could have "threatened the play off places" had he got the job a month or so sooner.

Don't be silly. The howls of protest that accompanied his selection for the Derby game alone were silenced by his ability to mix it with their aerial bombardment. Likewise at Sunderland.
Sheehan and Williams didn’t have the same squad.

The massive difference last season was O’Brien replacing Grimes. When O’Brien’s form fell away a little in the last few games so did our results.

Fulton is a bang average squad player paid a well above average first team starter wage (for us).

What’s more interesting is everyone thinks they know what wage he’s on. Some contacts on this forum aye 😎
While few will know with 100% factual accuracy what his salary is, his wages have been reported by a variety of outlets previously and he was one of the top earners at the club alongside Grimes and Pedersen.

Aye so none of you know what he’s on, but are all stating his massive wages as if you do. It’s a nonsense.

Look, I don’t particularly care if he stays or goes, he’s a decent enough squad player, who would need to be replaced by another decent squad player.

People want to trade him for someone but we don’t know if that someone will even be as decent as he is. And an absolute favourite saying of our fans when they talk about bringing an ex player back is “he knows the club so would fit straight in”.

Let’s say for one minute that there is truth in him being on a very, very high wage (by our standards). If that was the case then would you think that was ok for a decent enough squad player?

Added - by the way I almost never agree with ex players rejoining us. Can only think of Britton in this era where I wanted it to happen. Don’t want it with McBurnie, didn’t want it with Bony or Ayew or even Trundle. It rarely works.

Ha, opens twitter straight after that post and as if by magic, “he knows the club, understands the fans” 🤣🤣

Sorry Jakey if you post on here, not a slight on you at all.

So the only real difference was LoB? No difference to our style of play? The way the wingers were supposed to operate? No tactical or coaching differences? Man management?

We won five in a row then drew one and lost one of our final games, one of which was a complete dead rubber against Oxford. If we'd won seven in a row it would have taken us just two short of the club record. It was a natural flow of form. Not down to one player.

Nobody is claiming that he should be a first choice pick. Nobody is claiming that he's not paid enough. I've made that point in this very thread. You're railing against arguments that nobody is making.

What some people are saying is that he's due a lot more respect than he gets from a lot of people. I will stand by that.

No I’m not going to use an unknown metric to hammer one of our players, no chance.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.
Football forum shocker

Yes some of us base those opinions on what we have learned from elsewhere however accurate or inaccurate that may be, however when enough different sources have reported it then it becomes more and more believable.

You’ve learned nothing. You’re regurgitating rumours. Just because you repeat them they don’t become true.

And just to add, don’t bother linking me to some website listing wages as I ain’t interested in those neither. Show me his wage slip and you’ll have my attention.

To be fair some people on here are definately in the know, on one of the other non football threads (Dump of a city), it was deduced by yourself that I am loaded (I'm loaded fuck the peasants I think you said) because I don't like shops like B&M etc...

Didn’t say it was the only difference. You’ve created a strawman.

And I’m not railing against anything. I’m just saying he is paid too much of our playing budget for what we get from him in performance. And it was in response to someone saying we should judge him based on his initial transfer fee.
I’ve also said it will probably continue as no one else will pay anything near it unless we cut our losses and subsidise it. I’ve also said it’s not his fault.

I’ve no idea why that is causing so much angst. It seems weird to me.
