Summer Transfer Window

I think we're still one or two quality signings away from mounting a serious challenge this season, so I hope there is still a lot going on behind the scenes.
Our starting XI is as good as if not a bit better than most of our peers
Our matchday XVIII is competitive
Our season squad needs a tiny bit more

We are currently in the realm of "if we can get consistency we will be in the playoff pack"

Reasonable assessment, but all based on if the new boys perform well. Fingers crossed though, exciting times to be a swans fan right now which is something we haven't been able to say for a while!

Wrexham look like signing that Norwegian midfielder who was on loan at Cardiff at the end of the season.
O'Brien deal now totally dead by the looks(to Wrexham)

I wonder if it's the wages that might kill it? It's often a stumbling block.

He needs to be wise, he only has 12 months left of his Forest wage or does he sign a 3yr plus contract with someone this summer whilst his stock is high.

A lot can happen in 12months if he sits on his contract so even doing that can be a gamble.

He’s on 2.5M a year with Forest

20-25K max for O Brien, can’t see him accepting that much of a drop mind.
Don't see why not. He got his shot at Premiere League wages and didn't make it.

Not just with Forest but no other Premiere League club came in to loan him over the last couple of years. So he knows he has to drop back down to Championship wages

In that case, the best thing he can do is see out his contract at forest and he'll still have championship clubs wanting him next summer who'll pay him a signing on fee.

Indeed.
It’s a no brainier for him. Why would he throw away around £1M plus a signing on fee in 12 months time?
Forest may be agreeable to a loan which would considerably reduce their wages cost on him though. Maybe they pay half and the loaner pay the other half of his Forest wages? That’s if they can’t sell him and it would be a last minute deal at the end of the window because they’d love to sell him this summer.

No reason for O'B or McBurnie to rush
They can wait until clubs start to panic at the end of the window
Good luck to them but we shouldn't wait
We know where we are short
Good clubs do their business early
We should keep going like we have started
