They don't have a transfer embargo but they have 35 players on their books. They have to get that number down to 25 this week so if they sign Kone then 11 have to be sold or loaned out or possibly released. They could get a decent transfer incoming revenue plus the parachute payments so will have the cash but they will have to get the squad numbers down.

Stephenson seems viable. He can play DM, RB, RM and also covered at LB.

Daps, you've literally just said this guy can cover LB, then you ask if there's any whispers on a LB?

We have a starting LB, so seem unlikely to sign a specialist in the position just to be backup. PL clubs aren't going to want to send a LB here who will mostly be on the bench. Someone like this kid who can cover multiple positions seems the most likely.

I hope we're working on a new contract for our current LB to prevent another Darling situation next summer.

I would be shocked if he chose us over Leicester. He will see it as more opportunity to get into Premier league. I have kinda lost faith in this transfer now.

I think it's somewhat telling Blues or Wrexham haven't gone near him- both in the market for a top striker and could easily afford. They would of seen a lot of him last season...

It could be more that Wycombe are waiting for other clubs. There's not much the player can do (except agree provisional terms with us, which has probably already happened) until the club accept a bid for him.
