There was one in the second half which two players just barely couldn't reach, the cross itself was picture perfect

If that was the case, he wouldn’t have been a Swansea player. But so far, a different player indeed. It seems that he was instructed to move more towards the box.

He must have some pace, when we have a corner he's always the one left near the half way line to cover any quick counter attack.

I do feel that he's being asked to come into the box more when the ball is on the opposite wing... Williams had hime staying out wide.

He’s the kind of player that when he’s outside the box you want to play it into his feet but as soon as he’s in the box he’s got that instinct to get on the end of it.

I wasn’t sure he could go up a gear last season but he’s proving me wrong this year. His all round game seems much better this year. Great to see it.

I was, however screaming at him in the last 5-10 minutes when the ball went out wide to him and ne did what Swansea under Grimes and put his foot on it and played it back. I think they might have got the second goal after he played it back.

It was a bit strange how reluctant we were to get the ball in considering we had 6”3 Idah in the box. I don’t blame Ronald for it though, the whole team seemed to lose a step in the last 20, there was a general lack of contrition to our play imo.

I noticed that he was tucking in with Vip during the first half when Inoussa had the ball.

Is it a coincidence that Ronald's form in front of goal from playing a more central role is to the detriment of him forgoing the defensive side of his game which at times last season he was called by some fans to replace Key at right full back.
Four times I counted in the first half Hull switched play from their right side to our left and exposed Key marking two players - one of them, full back Giles has made a name for himself as a great crosser of the ball that led to McBurnie's tap in.
The same deficiencies after the interval saw both our full backs continued to be exposed as Hull were allowed to raid either flank at their leisure.

I’m not sure it’s a case of ‘forgoing defensive duties’. I think it’s a conscious tactical decision for the wingers to tuck in when the ball is on the opposite side of the pitch to help with our press and win the ball back higher up the pitch. The downside is it opens us up to cross field passes.

Pros and cons and I’m sure it’s something that both our coaches and the opposition have picked up on.
