What Brendan achieved here in two seasons was little short of miraculous. Staying up in his second season with the squad we had was one of the greatest managerial achievements ever.
Apart from the financial aspect and control over player recruitment, why would he risk his Swansea legacy? It could never be as good as last time and he’s just had his Celtic legacy tarnished by going back.

Yalcouye... If he works on his strength.. Stamenic from Forest. Burgess? Galbraith as you said. Cabango could be if he stepped up a little more.
With all due respect I don’t think our Ben is anywhere near PL standard. Stamenic needs to rediscover his early promise but maybe he isn’t a true CDM and would prefer playing 8.
Burgess has played up there and Yalcouye could but he’s been criminally underused

Disagree - but only time will tell. Not saying all our players are world beaters - bUT if you look at how isolated our striker is, our lack of a number 10 and our refusal to attack through central areas.. I could quite easily see an improvement very quickly in our attacking play.
I hate to sack a manager - but AS was giving me zero confidence he had any inclination or solution to all of the above.
I agree the f*ck out of this

2 penalties and Zan disallowed goal in 3 games - 5 points robbed
Hull 20 secs left equalize - 2 more points gone
How any other times the opposition scored in dying minutes
How many worldies have been scored against us so far compared to how often you see one.

On another day we would be in the top 6

Quality still crap but fine lines. Just sayin
Doesn’t opposing teams scoring late on point to a lack of fitness and concentration- what the management team should have got right as a minimum?
We do look undercooked physically, that may be down to only a few getting a decent runs of games to achieve “match fitness “.

The sheer fact that the press were told Monday this wasn't in the offing and then 24 hours later he was sacked tells a story that the next move is a quick one

And I wouldn't rule anyone out no matter how much we think we can't afford them...

No inside info, just putting two and two together and may well turn out to be getting five
Managers come cheaper than players. Except when you have to pay off crap ones six months into a 3 or whatever year contract. Get it right we fill the ground and make the play offs .

I suspect the same name is in your head as mine but every time I think it could be a thing, I turn around and get back to the same part as you reference the finances are too much

But then again we are attracting new investors and who is to say that that may involve multi millionaires from anywhere? All I feel is (and its a gut feel) that something changed in 24 hours (as Lisa said the press reported on Monday what they were told to report) and that suggests to me that something changed elsewhere.

And we don't have anyone in charge of football operations ...
I would love that certain someone to be our next manager, heard whispers a few weeks ago the possibility was being explored. I've no idea what our finances are so couldn't comment who's in reach and who's not.

BTW, I only got back last night after 5 days in hospital under the influence of some pretty strong painkillers and only just now have found out that AS has been sacked so quite a lot to catch up with. Finger on the pulse me :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Hope you’re doing ok

Rodgers on paper would be outstanding but you know they say never go back so I’m worried it wouldn’t work out second time around.

Also do you think Rodgers would pull in people to fill the ground again?

It would be oytshtandin’

But I really can’t see it. I can’t see him wanting to come back to the championship at this stage in his career and I can’t see him wanting to risk coming back somewhere where he is universally loved and end up tarnishing that legacy by it not working out. We still have the financial restrictions until we get a ton more commercial revenue.

I often say that nothing surprises me anymore in football, but that would blow me away. Can’t see it at all, no matter how many times Modric gets on the phone to him.

You make some very valid points JB. It's been well over 10 years since BR was here and a lot has changed in the game, us and BR since then. I think that we have a VERY underrated squad and BR would be able to coach the best out of them. Better the devil you know, as the saying goes 😀

🤣

I think you are suggesting a certain someone, someone who we are familiar with but surely the finances are too much.

Would be a real statement and would go down well with fans. He wouldn't take any shit from people and he would be like a messiah to the owners.
Welcome home Bob Bradley! 🇺🇸🤣

Yeah, it's not just money. He'll want a job to match his managerial 'status'. At the very least that would be something like Leeds or mid PL I would think. That said, stranger things have happened and Lisa/Phils thinking could work out (bigger role, ownership, total football control). less an employee than a full club football Svengali to develop future managers from a 'boot room' maybe. One thing if you do that...he'd be pretty unsackable. I love the idea of something innovative and different though...not just another football club, etc etc.

Worldies!!

That phrase is attributed to far too many goals, I would argue no worldies have been scored in a Swansea game this season, good goals yes but worldies.

In fact I haven't seen a worldie in the Championship (or premier league) as a whole this season.
