• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

I've admittedly not been huge on reading through internet forums in the past. From reading this thread I genuinely feel like I've missed out on some of our clubs greatest folklore and history by not knowing him nor seeing his posts.

To clarify, are we 100% sure it's him? Additionally, this all sounds mildly wacky!

Thanks for all the responses, I don't know whether to laugh or cry but here's hoping.

What is his football background prior to joining the Swans. Seems unusual to jump straight in at Head of recruitment level at a Championship club (or has he been at the club for a while in scouting/data roles)?
From what he said to me in the past, he was an analyst for sports betting. We vehemently disagree politically, but he was very courteous in some direct messages where he asked for some advice. We largely agreed that under Martin we failed to attack quickly using pace out wide-which the Martinez/Rodgers/Laudrup teams did.

Thanks. A big change in career then. I guess nobody (apart from those working closely with him) knows exactly what his role is, as recruitment departments seem to vary so much from club to club.

Having no knowledge of him on here or in person I wish him well and hope that we're all discussing how successful the summer 2025 window was in 6 months time!

He could be condescending and extremely annoying however he remained polite in my dealings with him over the years but would occasionally have a melt down. He certainly didn’t mind an argument and would often take the opposite and contrary view to most on here.

Not sure how he would cope face to face under pressure which is the way he might be feeling now under the start of the season we have had.

I don't recall Dimi ever being abusive. He was however fucking boring, which is considerably worse in my view.

Post after post, paragraph after paragraph explaining in tedious detail precisely why he was right and everyone else was wrong.

What was the reason he was banned so many times?
As a voyuer of the site for a few years, my impression was he was a pain in the arse who went on and on and on.

Every single thread would get derailed by him and when he got his red arrows out you knew the discussion was doomed.

He wasn't a fan of Emma Raducanu either.

Yep. Like a terminator, he would never stop until everyone else had lost the will to live, and the original point was long gone. He could bore a pomegranate into submission.

I always thought he was a nerd statto, never allowed out of his cupboard, and I'd assumed, if it's him, that's the role he'd have. Producing statto reports analysing seven shades of shampoo out of anything that moved, hurdling to conclusions that he would, of course, defend to the death.

It's curious, actually hoping fervently that his high opinion of himself and his opinion is actually justified.

He would wind other posters up with his incessant posting in an attempt to be proven right. There aren’t many if any at all who didn’t end up bumping heads with him on here. But as I said originally, he was never abusive to others even when others were going him dogs abuse.
