Hi all, I've never watched any American football, what game do you suggest I watch now?Thought you'd been quiet on here! Hope you enjoyed, apart from the soaking![]()
If you have NOW TV/Sky Sports, you can watch a game every Sunday night. Im not sure if there is a highlights show on normal TV any more, but you can watch stuff on YouTube. Heads up though, its a complicated game.Hi all, I've never watched any American football, what game do you suggest I watch now?
Watching the faces of the crowd change as the game swung back and forth was quite amusing. A brilliant watch for the neutral.I’ll have to catch up on that game later, looks like a wild one.
Start with watching highlights on YouTube, Bears v Bengals this weekend for example. You will findn some that are only 3 minutes longHi all, I've never watched any American football, what game do you suggest I watch now?
And on page 1 of this thread is a BBC Sport article which can help you pick your team. Give it a go and tell us who you land with. Somewhere later in the ten pages is a list of who supports who.Start with watching highlights on YouTube, Bears v Bengals this weekend for example. You will findn some that are only 3 minutes long
All you need to know at the beginning is that a team has 4 chances to gain 10 yards (and score in the endzone) or they lose possession to the opposition. The depth of the game comes in between that
As others have suggested, definitely start with short highlight videos. It’s a pity the hour highlights programme isn’t on BBC/ITV any more as that was targeted at ‘newbies’ as well as regulars.Hi all, I've never watched any American football, what game do you suggest I watch now?

I watched a lot on Channel 4 in the late 80s/early 90s but then lost interest (didn’t have time) for 15+ years.
Got back into it by watching RedZone on Sky on a Sunday evening. It’s like Soccer Saturday but with the highlights in each game being shown live and without the pundits (maybe it’s not like Soccer Saturday after allbut the idea is that you can follow all games simultaneously). Good viewing if you’ve got a spare few hours Sunday night and don’t want to sit through one game for 3hours.
Only thing with that is it probably won’t help you learn any of the nuances etc.
Anyway, enjoy if you do get into it![]()
