Plus Stoke is an absolute dump.Because in the 7 seasons since they were relegated their highest finish is 14th

I don’t see owner wealth as being a deal maker for a January loan. They also don’t have a Modric who can get on the phone and sell the merits of the location. Why?
Stoke the location pretty central.
Owners are loaded (possible decent contract on the future).
They having a decent ish season (so far)
I agree that Stoke is a dump, however I bet very few of their players actually live in Stoke.Plus Stoke is an absolute dump.
It depends what his current contract situation is and he long term plans are. Does he think he will break through at Palace or is a permanant move require.I don’t see owner wealth as being a deal maker for a January loan. I would bet the farm on none. Ditto Swansea centre, also a dump, like it or not. It's just it's our dump. Lots of lovely areas around both. Stoke pay more money and it's nearer Manchester nightlife.I agree that Stoke is a dump, however I bet very few of their players actually live in Stoke.
my point exactly.I would bet the farm on none. Ditto Swansea centre, also a dump, like it or not. It's just it's our dump. Lots of lovely areas around both. Stoke pay more money and it's nearer Manchester nightlife.
If a player decides on what team to play for based on the areas nightlife then I'd rather they played elsewhere.my point exactly.
The deal included an obligation to buy which Stoke are reluctant to do. So hes kinda shot himself in the foot here.I don’t see owner wealth as being a deal maker for a January loan. They also don’t have a Modric who can get on the phone and sell the merits of the location.
There is some beautiful countryside around Stoke.I would bet the farm on none. Ditto Swansea centre, also a dump, like it or not. It's just it's our dump. Lots of lovely areas around both. Stoke pay more money and it's nearer Manchester nightlife.
Had a electrition tell me the other day how it was rough in Swansea. My argument was, any town or city has its good and bad points. You just got to look for it. I've moved around alot in my time and more true as you get older. On the subject of dumps or otherwise, I had a rude awakening a few months ago when a bloke I quite regularly chat to on dog walks in the park asked me where in Wales I was from. When I said Swansea, his instant reply was ‘I was there recently for a meeting - it’s a complete shithole isn’t it’.
Now firstly I was taken aback at how completely f*cking rude that was (and I haven’t spoken to him since - I think he realised afterwards that it was ridiculous), and then I spent ten minutes going on about Gower and Mumbles and Langland and Pwll Du and the Marina and Rhossili etc etc but it make you realise what other people think.
And he’s from bloody Acton. Which believe me is an absolute shithole for most part.
People who’ve spent any time in Swansea love it, but those who haven’t have got very negative opinions. Similar to those expressed on here about, well most places really. Certainly recently places like Stoke, or Middlesbrough or Coventry.
The steel works is still there, nothing significant has gone yet, just closed down / turned off. Sadly it’s like a ghost town in there though, hardly any lorry’s or trains moving coil about.Swansea like most cities have run down deprived areas and half decent places.
I drove through Port Talbot yesterday for the first time in 15 years and was quite saddened how the place has just stood still since the 80's, very little investment and the steel works which lit up the night sky has all but gone.
I had my first apprenticeship in Acton with British Rail and it's not great although there will be a HS2 spin off for that area in the coming years.
Personally feel that are two types of people in life. The ones who only look for the negatives and those who focus on the most positive aspects of life.Had a electrition tell me the other day how it was rough in Swansea.
