• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

We may have to sell both Vipotnik and Galbraith unless there is a significant improvement in commercial income.

The smaller squad bit would be a perfectly reasonable approach. Giving contracts to Fulton and twenty five coaches doesn’t suggest that will happen…
Given the fact that we gave a new contract to Vipotnik I doubt we’re in a rush to sell him. Unless it includes a chunky release fee that someone has to meet. And if that happens it’s a win for all parties.

We don't know that for a fact. Absolutley none of us on here actually know how deep our owners pockets are.
Unfortunately that’s got nothing to with it - unless they’re going to do what the Coates family did at Stoke - which I assume is highly unlikely.

We must be reasonably close to the £42m? allowed losses in 3 seasons if we lost close to half of that in the most recent accounts.

If Leicester fans werent pissed off enough leaving the stadium then Portsmouth scoring in the 97th minutes for 3 pts away to Boro with only their second attempt on goal in the game would destroy them. Portsmouth v Lecis next week could put an end to them

We should be selling Vipotnik this summer to capitalise on the profit we can make in my opinion. What we shouldn’t do is sell Vipotnik and Galbraith, the sale of one should enable us to keep the other while allowing us to bring in quality for other areas. It’s how Coventry have done what they’ve done.

The only worry is our current track record for recruiting forwards (wingers especially) is quite inconsistent and with us being so reliant on one player for goals, if we mess it up it could have serious consequences.
I agree. That’s why I said the other day that if we have a choice I’d sell Galbraith.

If we sell our best players we will.

Which is what I said.

Remove Vipotnik’s goals this season and we are down, not top 6. It will take a lot of change to replace them.
It doesn’t work like that though. Add in Vigs saves and we’d be a couple of points clear of Sheffield Wednesday. 🤔

The new contract makes it more likely not less.

I hope that won’t be the case in terms of having to sell both…Watch this space I guess.

I agree with the second part. The likes of Congreve, Lissah et al who are out on loan are 21/22. They’re not kids.

Having them in the squad instead of ‘senior’ players on much higher wages or loans who rarely play would be my preferred route if it enabled us to have a stronger XI. You run the risk with injuries I guess but if 1 or 2 of them become successful the upside is far greater.

None of us know what is going to happen in the summer. This forum has a habit of expecting the worse and creating fear and panic for no reason.

Let's what and see what happens before we all go selling our best assets to the highest bidder.

Oh yeah and todays commentators on Paramount+ said we have nothing to play for and we are going to finish worse than last seasons 11th place with 61 points. Thank you Vipotnik for shoving one up their condescending buttholes

We don’t have anything to play for though in that we can’t go down or up.

I’d be okay with that to be honest as long as it’s just one of them. From our owners perspective and PSR though, I can see them selling the higher value player which at this moment is Vipi.

They really went for it last summer, the players they brought in have to grow in value or we might be in some trouble.

Hopefully this rumoured big commercial deal can make somewhat of a difference.
