• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Do you think Idah would score 20+ goals next season?

I don't, would be surprised if he scored 10 if he puayrd a full season. Therefore he's not an adequate replacement (imo)
Hard to judge and obviously nobody knows for certain, but he’s scored 4 this year in the equivalent minutes of less than 8 full matches according to this site

Vipotnik might be the only striker to get 20 league goals in the Championship this year, so 20 is a big ask, but less than 10 seems overly pessimistic too.

Hopefully we don’t need to sell either.
I’m going to end up in Cefn Coed saying this but 2, pacy and aggressive wingers and the top 6 is there for the taking.
The goal today is a perfect example of what we should be aiming for - driving forward, at pace, in numbers and with intent!
That’s why the top 6 are where they are.

I said months ago try Ronald in the centre running at them, trouble is looking at today eom run, i think Ronald would have gone down!

If Vipotnik goes and Idah steps up to first choice, there will be plenty lining up to slate him if he doesn't score at least as many as Vipi has. He was written off by some before he even played for us, based on his scoring record for Norwich and his transfer fee.

Yeah. That little tap on Eom's ankle that he rode and carried on running would in all likelihood have sent Ronald crashing to the ground.

Whilst I wouldn't write Idah off, the problem for me is that his scoring record other than at Celtic is not great and nothing he has shown at Swansea suggests it would be otherwise if he was first choice.

I have only really seen 1 performance from Idah this season that has made me think that there is a real player in there and that was at Sheffield United the other week when he was excellent when he came one.

Sadly that cameo has been the exception and it would need to be the norm and I don't believe he would manage that and his previous at Norwich seems to back that up (I don't think goals at Celtic translate well to the Championship).

If Vipotnik did leave, then I firmly believe the next 1st choice striker isn't currently on the books.

He’s hardly had a run of games for us, to be judged on. He came to us with an excellent scoring record for Celtic, forget what went before.

Vip was being written off last year as well, now he’s the second coming.

I don't think Idah is necessarily the Vip replacement in waiting, but it's very hard for a striker to do anything off the bench in the minutes he gets. Especially with a few of his recent performances being when we're seeing games out rather than sniffing out a goal - he's effectively coming on to hold the ball up and by us some time

Who knows
I certainly wouldn’t have had Vipi down to score 20 goals last season.
Be nice if he could though and save us a few bob.
Problem is, is that if we sell Vipi and don’t buy anyone decent up top this forum will go into meltdown and it is possible that is justified 👀

We won’t buy a striker with a proven record at this level (to replace Vip) so they’ll be onto a hiding to nothing from the start, same as what Idah is having now.
