• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Sad times, thank you Phil for your work.

I hope that the majority of us will find a place to migrate to - not a fan of the Fansnetwork layout.
I pointed this out to Keith. Again im not getting into debates, but as many know I am a fan of another fan site even if I agree or disagree with articles that's what it's all about, but accessibility (layout) is not good. This site is quick and easy to comment. I am being fussy I know.

There’s no poison on here regardless of what anyone says it’s always been working class men/women having working class banter.
Ok, poisonous may be too harsh, but a reasonable alternative might be hostile or scathing. These terms describe hurtful, malicious, or damaging remarks intended to cause harm, embarrassment, or discomfort.

Banter on the other hand is the playful, friendly, and witty exchange of teasing remarks between people. It is lighthearted conversation intended to be humorous and to build rapport, rather than to cause offense.

Both apply to this site on occasions, but the latter is not overwhelming tbh.

Still, been some excellent debates and posters over the years. So thanks again Phil 👍

Ok my friend.

I havent posted on here much recently. I havent been to a game in ages. My interest in the club is low as its ever been. Nevertheless when I saw this site was closing it made me reflect. When I joined this site a week before the Hull game..THE Hull game, it was because I couldnt focus on work and I needed to be around my fellow Jacks, as I lived in London at the time. For the next 15 years JA.net was central to my whole relationship with the club. We shared that crazy ride together. As football has changed recently I can no longer get behind it, but the day this site ends will be a tragedy. A TRAGEDY. I may have upset various people over the years, and if so I apologise. This has been an utter pleasure and some my greatest enjoyment of our team has come from this forum. I cant imagine how hard it is to run a place like this and my petty gripes about AI should not cast a shadow on the admiration and gratitude I have to the person who helmed the ship for over 2 decades. Thank you Phil. This isnt just a forum closing. This IS the end of an era. I wish you all well.

Upset various people over the years ffs.

Anyone that gets upset about postings on a forum needs to get a life.

Post of the thread so far. It’s been quite a ride.

Thanks Phil… as many people have said more eloquently than I could, this place has been my Swansea City home over the last 25 years.

I’ve got lots of images in my head of the varied characters on here, no idea who most of you are, but most of you have got made up faces in my mind.

Not sure where I’ll look to for my Swansea fix when this place goes.

Maybe we need a farewell social event to finally put real faces to the names 🤣

That’s not a bad idea actually.
