• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Also, as there is already a thread on this, it would be remiss of me not to say ‘ferdy’ one last time. ;)

Anyone remember when someone in the east stand took a photo of Monty in the west stand and posted it on here?
Blaze took it and posted different variations of it including one of him on the roof.
He went mental.
Thick twat. 😂
There was murders over that which went on for ages.

What was his brother called? He turned up at another posters house to fill him in over something or another. Hitman's house I think he went to?

Lorry loads of scaffolders on call.

Monty used to post that meme with the words something along the lines of “my work here is done”.

Been some absolute belting characters on the various versions of this forum over the years.

His brother was Russy/Swanjack10

Dicky, Drunk Baker, Mattthejack.. mart6 who only posted about 3 times, but his contribution couldn't be more profound, people wanted to fill him in
I don’t know if it was announced on here but Drunken Baker passed away either last year or the year before 😢

My favourite posters have always been the ones I disagree with/who disagree with me. There have been many and long may that continue.

Toulouse is still about under a different name. Not seen him post on here though.

Warwick is much missed.
Billy(Baglan) isn't on here but I'm in a whatsapp group with him and met up at Soton earlier in the year, he's doing well

Warwick is fine posting his biting barbs on twatter

I couldn’t let this list go without a mention of my one time nemesis, Shaky.

Huge value added to this site for ages. And must have done wonders to Phil’s post numbers given he once spent days and probably hundreds of posts telling me that it was impossible I knew anything about finance as I’d referred to Goldman Sachs as Goldmans rather than Goldman. I used to while away many a boring hour or two arguing with him for the sake of it.

I think he was Danish. Although as with everything in this site, that may have been complete bollox.

I also greatly enjoyed the mad fandom of kiisgod for a time, as well as most of the incarnations of our erstwhile head of recruitment, including the names he used most recently. Not always quite full of the ‘commoncents’ sic he thought, but always absolute value. His days on the Cardiff forums were also memorable.

There have been so many over the years. Despite him becoming rather angry with me in his latter years, Dav will always be remembered by me very fondly as one of our most committed and interesting overseas supporters, who joined us in the days when it was pretty rare, almost unheard of.

We’ve lost so many, gained even more and somehow this site has kept us all entertained through the good times and very dark times.

Brilliant stuff.
