    Nations League draw

This cycle will have very little impact (for us) on the 2028 Euros as we're pretty much nailed on to qualify automatically as a host. Obviously staying up (4th is relegated and 3rd has a playoff to stay up in March 2027) would benefit in term of playing better teams and aid our ranking for...

    Playoff Structure Change

Think that's still pretty common across Europe (including Germany of the 'big' leagues) Our first ever promotion in the playoffs involved a team from the league above - some of my first Swans memories are those home playoff matches against Rotherham and Torquay then listening to the away legs...

    Playoff Structure Change

Plenty of weird splits and playoffs across Europe, but the Belgian league certainly seems to be the most bonkers, with points being halved after 30 games before a 3-way split! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belgian_Pro_League#Competition_format_and_naming *I think the Cymru Premier is adopting...

    Wigan target Sheehan

It did seem strange at the time that the only person on the staff with significant experience as a coach and some as a manager was not kept on after the success at the end of last season. Clearly there may have been a whole host of reasons for that which I’m not privy too but if it was a...

    Playoff Structure Change

I’m inclined to agree, although Burnley have got 100 points twice in the last 3 years and been relegated immediately (assuming this season plays out as expected). Sunderland also proving it’s what you do in the summer, not the season before that counts. 1/3 of the teams in the league being in...

    Playoff Structure Change

Looks like this is going to a vote. I’d imagine most clubs in the Championship would vote in favour. Possibly some of the yo-yo clubs would be against? https://www.theguardian.com/football/2026/feb/10/efl-clubs-vote-expanding-championship-playoffs-to-six-clubs

    Vipotnik - Top Scorer (Championship)

I hope you’re right and happy to be proved wrong in the summer in terms of the interest and offers we’ll get. Obviously I’d be even happier if we keep him.

    Vipotnik - Top Scorer (Championship)

The valuation is largely irrelevant, it’ll come down to what offers come in. Personally, I’d be surprised if any clubs offered more than £15m and if that means we keep him for another season I’d be delighted. I’d also be surprised if we turned down an 8 figure fee for any of our players...

    Vipotnik - Top Scorer (Championship)

I can understand people watching him occasionally thinking he doesn’t have the all round game to play any higher. The improvement in his pressing, hold up play and different type of goals he’s scored over the last couple of months might make a PL club take a gamble in the summer though. The...

Piroe scored 40+ goals over two seasons and we got around £10m (I think). Slightly different contract situations but I’d be surprised if anyone offered over £15m for Vipotnik (as good and clinical as he’s been this season)

Winning the ball higher up the pitch helps but I agree - for the 1st time in years we’re regularly getting 3/4 players in the box when it’s being delivered.

Can’t see it unfortunately. If we’re offered £10-15m for him and/or Vipotnik I think we’re likely to accept. Best case for me is that we get a very big offer for one of them and the other is happy to stay even if there is interest.

Agree with the second paragraph. Clearly Matos wants Fulton/Stamenic as the deeper midfielder and I’m not sure that what he’s asking Franco/Widdel/Yalcouye/Cullen (and Walta I guess) to do as the two 8s plays to his strengths.

Outstanding signing and I think we’ll make a big profit on him (probably this summer). I’ll be interested to see which PL teams would actually make an offer for him though? Wouldn’t be surprised if he went to a relegated club in the Championship.

Another good home win and always felt that we had another gear if needed. Great to see Vipotnik grab another 2. What a hit for the free kick! I thought the last 2 away games would give an idea of how much we’ve improved under Matos (a lot is the answer). The 4 games left in February will...

    Burnley 100 points...

9 out of 13 seasons in the PL for Burnley with 4 automatic promotions from the Championship mixed in - wouldn’t be surprised to see them top 2 again next season. Seem to be a bit stuck between being too good for one league and not good enough for the other atm, but there’s far worse places to...

    Burnley 100 points...

The PL seems to have gone back to a point where physicality and athleticism trump everything in terms of player profile. Leeds and Sunderland have recruited very well in terms of this. Not sure about Fulham being in any danger mind. Even if the points total is higher than usual this season...
