• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

We get this a lot with our fans. I’m not sure if it’s just us or if other clubs’ fans love to slate their players. Truth is we’ve seen literally nothing of Vip with the last couple of managers having other preferences, and that just leads to the usual rubbish about them being shite, a wrong’un, or both, etc, etc….. ad nauseam. It’s a load of tedious bollocks as he obviously has something about him and they can’t all have bad attitudes. The fault lies with the club, either for bringing in the wrong player or not knowing how to manage them.
He's started 24 league games & made another 19 appearances off the bench. We've seen enough to form an opinion I'd say.

Looked sluggish and slow last season (footballing mentality and physically) but he did show glimpses of being a good finisher and hold up target man.

With a season under his belt and a pre-season hopefully doing some work alongside a striker coach i was hoping we'd see continuous improvement. I went to Cheltenham pre-season and kept an eye on him hoping to see him bully the lower league centre backs and bag a few goals. Unfortunately he looked out of his depth. Crawley in the cup, same story.

I wanted him to go be good, but I've seen enough, its not going to work. If there's an offer for anything equalling the signing on fee we paid, get rid.

I think we gulled ourselves by equating “international striker” with “good”. International football is mostly gash and very ordinary players get a lot of caps.

if rumors correct beinteresting to see if he is involved today or not ????

Get rid.
Get him off the books.
Perhaps he hasn’t been given a chance by various managers, ‘cause he’s shite
He can smash the ball in with both feet like his goals at Derby and Leeds last year showed. Yates was shite though it’s a fair argument that he was more of a filler and totally didn’t fit. Vipotnik doesn’t fit a high press system either - we didn’t employ that when we signed him so a bit unfair on him I think.

But its difficult to see exactly what system Vipotnik would fit into. He's not good at challenging defenders so he's never going to be a lump ball Kieffer Moore type. He can't really run in behind like an Obafemi type and he can't press like Cullen. I can't really see a situation where he plays in a 2 with a bigger man either where he's the one benefiting from the knock downs / hold up as he's to slow of thought to gamble on the flick ons etc.
