I'd go back to a back four and 8f you want play out from back get couple ball playing centre halves ,also Lowe is garbage so easy for defenders to mark him,he's so static and makes it easy is control is dire, makes wrong options,we need new centre halves new centre forward or give wittaker a go,Lowe needs dropping might give him the boot he needs

This season will be quite painful for some fans, it's a rebuild and the main objective is to stay in the championship, will it be pretty, probably not, specially the first half of the season.

Grimes has to go as he's the one slowing us down, Martin has stated how good grimes is I do hope after the last two games his attitude has changed and I hope he acts quickly as we do not want to hit a slump, hopefully we will find out if martin has learnt on friday night.

I've also realised that eteb is bi polar.
I agree Grimes is a waste if space not 1 meaningful forward pass today. FFS is also afraid to shoot.

There was a few players tonight that looked as if they’ve been told to find new clubs/not part of this system.

Defensively we were awful tonight. Players making school boy errors. With no creativity in midfield and very little up front I struggle to see where the goals are going to come from.

Joel Piroe. He will score goals for us.

Can't put any blame on Benda for any of the goals tonight, in fact the first minute aside I thought he was good the whole game.

Our defence is young and sometimes naive and I think that today definitely showed that, letting players get goalside of them for a free header with the first goal is failing the basics and we should have done better with that free kick. Today showed that while Lati can fill in at RWB that he is definitely not a natural fit there, he doesn't have the attacking instincts to time his runs properly, to take on and beat a man and then put in quality delivery for the strikers. A world of difference between him and Roberts and Laird who did more in ten minutes in an attacking sense than Lati did for three halves of football.

For all that we are well stocked in midfield right now that is where our biggest problem lies. Neat and tidy does not necessarily translate to keeping a good tempo and picking the right passes to break the lines and get us going forward. Part of this is due to a lack of movement and as I said after the last game the confidence to pass the ball into space rather than to the man for him to run onto it without killing the pace of the attack. There is a clear and obvious disconnect between the base of the midfield and getting players onto the ball higher up the pitch who have turned their man and are looking for runners so that we can create chances.

Part of this does come down to the attack, Lowe today I thought was disappointing and was lucky not to be subbed because we had changes that were needed elsewhere. Piroe was good today and Paterson also seemed over his niggle from the Sheff Utd game. Two up front means sacrificing a man in midfield, which in turn means we either lose from the sitting midfielders or the link between them and the attack. Personally I think we have to learn to cope with only one sitting midfielder, playing both Downes and Grimes is overkill for two players who pretty much play the same position and have the same style.

Injuries permitting the team I want to see on the pitch on Friday:

------------------------ Benda -------------------------
---- Cabango ------ Cooper------- Manning---------
Laird---------------- Downes---------------- Bidwell
-------- Walsh ------------------ Paterson------------
---------- Piroe -----------------Whittaker ----------

If Walsh isn't available then Kyle Joseph.

I think that's the case. Look at the talent that's been lost over the last few years. Cooper, for all his faults, pulled a blinder pulling in players like Brewster, Woodman, Guehi. All gone and Ayew too. And then from the end of Potters time the likes of Oli, Rodon, Ben, Celina all out the door. We've got nobody close to that type of quality now. Just look at that back 3 tonight. Ben the only vaguely experienced CB that's fit, and then he could often only make the bench last season.

Martin's going to need some help of the board. We need at least 3 quality players, not squad fillers but decent quality for his league. Otherwise it's going to be a long season of looking over our shoulders at relegation if we continue to play like this with so many holes in the team. It might help a bit when some of the injured players come back, but we'll still be weaker than last year in terms of quality.

i think Walsh is out for a while but from the little I've seen he looks well suited to what we are trying t do - moves the ball quickly. Grimes will never be dropped but we need to go fulton and downes as our two. How the fck Grimes is captain is beyond me he doesnt even talk.

For what its worth i dont think cooperball would have yielded many more points from these three games as it's been a tough start. Positive that Piroe has a goal

Wow, now that was a terrible performance.
No creativity at all, no pace, no movement, nothing.
I dont think the system is going to work 5 at the back with the players we have leave us offering nothing going forward.
The only two positives were the piroe goal and Laird debut. Everything else was woeful.

Sad this is, surprising it isnt. Tough times ahead. Lets see where we are at Xmas.

Having watched the game, there was a stoke player on him and our players did nothing to shield him from them. He was never going to be able to get to that ball

I don't want to see Grimes in a Swansea shirt again. I'm fed up of seeing his one-footedness, his multiple touches when one should be enough, his passing backwards, his awful corners, his awful free kicks, and his cowardice on the ball. Just take the money - however much it is. Although, on that performance no-one will be offering any. If he goes, he can take Dhanda with him.

You win the post of the night all correct

I have to say I like Martins press conferences. I hope he sticks with it and I hope they stick with him even if we go down.

I don't think it mattered, hopefully this is the end of the back 5 and "attacking wingbacks"
For half of the game we only had maybe one actual attacking player on the pitch.
For this possession system to work we need attacking players, getting bang average fullbacks into winger positions is killing us.
