• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

This season is purely about survival, nothing more. I think we'll do it, just about.

Then in summer it will be time to get rid of a lot of dead wood and focus on bringing in players that better suit Matos. If we could, I would get rid of Key, Ronald, Eom, Cullen and Fulton, for starters. They just constantly underwhelm.

And for the love of god, hope we get a good start to next season, because I for one am absolutely sick of us changing coaches mid-season. I just want a boring uneventful season for once, where we amble to a comfy mid-table finish under the same coach, and we build from there quietly and gradually. It's not too much to ask, surely.
What? Another mid table boring season next year. Where's your bloody ambition young man? Personally I'm pissed off with boring mid table, nothing happening seasons. I don't want us to be the next Preston, aimlessly finishing mid table, knowing in October that virtually your season is already at an end. At the end of the 23/24 championship season Sunderland finished 16th in the championship, what sort of players do you think they had then, yet little more than 18 months later they have beaten Newcastle in the Premier league. That's the ambition i want for our club,,not boring mid table mediocrity.

We haven't had an 'amble to a comfy mid-table finish' type season since Potter. The two seasons after that were playoffs/promotion chasing under Cooper and then we've flirted with relegation at some point in every season since. So a boring mid table season would actually be a novelty.

I think the point Andrew was making that it would be easier to build a promotion challenging team from a stronger foundation, which a comfy mid-table team would probably have.

Don't believe it, Preston and Bristol City have been trying it for donkeys years, and failed miserably.

At least you get it. That's exactly what I meant, all of it.

I just want us to have a boring and uneventful season where we are way off relegation, so we have something to build on.

Yet Coventry got promoted from League 1 and finished 16th, then 12th. The year after they finished 5th and lost in the playoff final. So you can find examples where it works also. You're inevitably going to find more examples where it hasn't worked, as there are 24 teams in this division and only 3 can get promoted.

Every time I watch us play it screams top six. lol.
If we sign a half decent right back and two wingers and we will have worthy starting line ups to compete against anyone in this league and we are yet to have a full team coaches with us. We could be a different side a month from now.

Irrelevant if any one agrees or not, its good to see some fans being optimistic. Yes we just need to get to safety ASAP, but who knows. Im not saying we will get anywhere near the top. But improvements are showing and let's build on that. Come summer we need clear out and I think it will happen. Key, Cullen, Fulton, Ronald.

We'll be nearer the top than the bottom come the end of May. Everyone chill. 😎
Baffled where this confidence comes from in the fanbase it's just completely tone deaf.

I've banged this drum for months but we are a bottom 3 team in every single important underlying metric. Unless a team is in the bottom 3 we physically cannot beat them it is as simple as that.

Apart from points.

We could be 21st when Pompey and Blackburn play their games in hand (let's face it they will both probably win aswell), and we are halfway through season.

I'm really not sure how many numbers/performances people need to see that this is a relegation battle and one we absolutely deserve to be in.

I hate this arrogance/blind faith of this fan base we deserve to be down here.

Still plenty of football left this season, I am looking at play offs not relegation. This standard is so bad this year, a few January signings and we could go on a run.
That’s the frustrating thing. In the past you had half a dozen or so sides you’d know were nailed on for promotion/ play offs. Let’s be honest, who’d have thought that Coventry would be running away with the league? Playoff candidates yes. And Hull, Preston and Millwall all doing well. That could’ve been us. I won’t be entitled and say it should’ve though!
But this season, the play offs could be anyone’s and well done those three teams I mentioned above who’ve taken advantage so far.
