Points needed to secure PO spot?

A win on Tuesday, and I'd be quite confident that we'll make it, anything else will really make it touch and go for me.

Leave it out old man, it's gone, accept it

I refuse to accept it, yet.

What’s with the old man remark?

This is an interesting one

In the next 10 days we have

Sheffield Wed (away) - 23rd
Wycombe (home) - 24th
QPR (home) - 11th

Watford have

Luton (Away) - 13th
Norwich (Away) - 1st

They are in excellent form but a 6 point swing in our favour could make it interesting especially as their game after Norwich away is Brentford away

I'm straw clutching but there could be a twist or turn yet?

Well Reading were really unlucky to lose to them...I don't know if that is worrying or encouraging.

Realistically we would have to win all our games as they will get at least 6 or 7 points from the last 5 games I would think. Brentford are also back in play in these scenarios as they would have beaten Watford to make it possible.

Very long shot indeed. Positive or negative doesn't make it more or less likely. Just need to focus on our games and first thing is secure the playoffs.

It's amazing one decent performance and the positivity and optimism is back. If we win our next two and Watford slip up I may join you. Not just yet though.

I agree. This season, we could finish with 90 points and still not finish in the top two. Our goal now is the play-offs, nothing else. And most of us would have taken that at the start of the season. I just wish that we were more enjoyable to watch, because we aren't.

I think the best we can hope for now is something like:

3) Brentford
4) Swans
5) Barnsley
6) Bournemouth/Reading (hopefully Reading but I can see this being Bournemouth)

I think we would have a chance over 2 legs v Barnsley but not over Brentford or Bournemouth.

Putting my Mystic Meg hat on...I can see us getting to the final and losing to Brentford or Bournemouth. Losing to Brentford in the final would be painful.

Brentford were abysmal in the play-off final last season against Fulham. However, if there were any justice I think that they would go up as the best of those four teams, but unfortunately or fortunately there isn't. And we'd all have been happy to be in this position at the start of the season.

"Losing to Brentford in the final would be painful." But beating them in the final would be terrific. I'm sure that they have the exact same feelings - in fact as a secret Jack living very near there I know that they do. A couple of their fans I've spoken to want to play Barnsley, or Bournemouth, instead of us. Because (a) we're a team of diving cheats, (b) the refs luv us, and (c) we get undeserved luck against them.

I think your last sentence describes our feelings towards them glyn.

They've easily dispatched teams lower down the table but their results since the turn of the year against the top half have been more mixed:

Lost to Bournemouth, QPR and us
Drew against Middlesbrough and Millwall
Beat Reading, Cardiff, Barnsley and Stoke but were lucky in the extreme against Cardiff and the Barnsley win was before their upturn in form, snd Stoke aren't very good.

Won 4, Drawn 2, Lost 3 with Norwich, Millwall, Brentford and us to come, back to back, tells me it might not be over.
