I was not convinced by the appointment of Matos but barring a total disaster he’s earned us enough points to stay up this season, that said, you have to say we’re pretty much a one dimensional team under his stewardship.

In my opinion you’re starting to see the limitations of the pressing game, players are starting to look knackered and are starting to revert to type by playing the ball around in our own half, totally understandable i suppose when you consider the level of effort required to play that way.

Today there was a naivety in our play even the the Ipswich commentators were saying that we’d get a bit of a ragging by being so open against them, poor tactics and team selection didn’t help either.

Galbraith has to play in the middle, he is the only player that can capitalise on the transition, it’s great winning the ball back but a total waste of time if we’re too slow to use it, we saw that on several occasions today and against Derby and Hull.

I like Matos, his personality and enthusiasm is infectious but I liked Sheehan as well, liking someone doesn’t make them a good manager, some have gone overboard with their praise of Vitor but our performances away from home have not been good enough we’re too soft and too easy to beat.

We’ll stay up this season and I’m more than happy with that but there will be a huge challenge for the manager next season.

I like what he’s doing. If we had two wingers and a number 10 who weren’t brain dead, we’d be flying.

I’m being overly harsh on them, but there’s no denying he’s being let down by the lack of quality of that 3 playing behind Vip. None of them are dangerous. And that includes Widell when he plays. I love his energy and enthusiasm, but he’s not delivering where it matters either (yet - he deserves more time).

There was some naivety today, although we were also chasing the game from 3 mins. We’d probably have been less committed if it wasn’t for conceding the early goal. It was always going to be a tough one.

From what I’ve seen down the .com, we’re much better off with Matos than we were under Sheehan.

Way to early to write Matos off. He came on when we was at our lowest. And changed our style of play mid season as well. Needs a pre season and a transfer window. I agree with some of your points, and players do look tired. It was the same with Liverpool when Klopp came in. Yes I know we're not Liverpool and he is not Klopp.

Nobody is writing anybody off, the facts are that apart from a down and out Sheffield Wednesday side we haven’t dominated anyone, I’m delighted that we have the points we have but people are kidding themselves if they believe Xanadu is upon us.

I thought the players fitness look extremely poor coming out of pre season with Sheehan. And when Matos came in the players clearly struggled after the 60-70 minute mark with his pressing style. Now we seem to be able to get intensity through most of the game but are struggling with 3 games in a week. The players fitness and conditioning will get better, but it’s a really slow process. Let’s see what it’s like after a pre season under Matos.

Matos will be fine with us, he has turned things around although our away form is an issue.

We will need players to improve or get better players. We need players like Eom,Ronald, Inoussa and Widell to start producing better offensive outputs.
Walta is to early with us to judge but given our lack of goals and assists from midfield then there will be quite a bit of hope/expectancy on him to produce.

I think our away form under Matos looks really bad. But 2 of the games happened in his first week and I can’t blame him for those losses. Then most of the rest were against very tough opponents. Apart from the past 2 we were competitive against all of them. I’m not saying the results are acceptable, because we certainly should have gotten some draws or even sneaked another win. But most of those 8 losses weren’t exactly shocking results.

We were up against a very good team today, we need to build towards that. Last summer's transfer window was quite promising, we've added a player this winter and now I look forward to the next window.

A team in our position though, will lose players. So hopefully we can balance and improve next window.

We do have quite a few drama queen fans though that love to hit out at the team, players, manager.

We are doing perfectly fine. More points at this stage of the season than any season since the parachute years. This was a season of major rebuild and the foundations are in place. We came up against a side with a squad value of 200m and were comprehensively beaten. It will
happen now and again and anyone expecting anything different just doesn’t understand this league or the task at hand.

"task at hand"

What is this task at hand stuff then? Say every team is too strong, too good, accept our fate, Charlton beat Ipswich at Ipswich 3-0.. are we better than Charlton.. the excuses are beyond nutty, we've got million pound players out there.. Charlton haven't.. everyone is raving about Matos as the 2nd coming, he's got a 44% win rate, Sheehan had a 42% win rate.. the problem is fans have a "bias" towards their team.. but because I've been fed information on football, winning dressing rooms and people at the pinnacle, your biases and feelings have to be chucked out of the window to get to where you want to be.. being positive doesn't equate to reality on a football pitch

Why aren’t Charlton winning the league then? They are 18th. If they can beat Ipswich 3-0 then they should win every game then?

Attitude on the day, we went 2-0 down, pretty much surrendered.. we've been surrendering since Matos has been here.. we're accepting defeat before a ball is kicked and fans are accepting it, in fact glorifying it.. odd odd take.. yeah it's Ipswich this week, might as well accept our plight.. what an odd fan take to have.. teams who have a worse squad than us are beating these invincible teams.. yet we're lucky to have a shot
