I was just saying - take a look at some of the recent press from our new Owners and do some googling about them. And check out the current PSR framework to see how tricky it is to deliver success given the fiscal constraints (no matter how wealthy our new Owners are)
(sorry to hear about your struggles, fella - take some of the friendly advice above and I look forward to more banter soon.....)

Wow - you can actually be normal then

Who is to say that an upcoming foreign manager would do any better against the backdrop of large losses in the last few sets of accounts, the loss of morale and tactics left by Luke and some of our recruitment for several seasons. Many people were fed up with the passing at all costs and if a more pragmatic manager is what is needed to keep us up in The Championship (which I hope is realistic for a club of our size) I will be happy. I know there are a few smaller clubs in The Prem, as we were in our time, but there is so much to do in terms of managing the non football side for us, before we start thinking the club can spend big for another manager. I would be happy for Sheehan to be given at least a season's contract.

Exactly. I increasingly feel that they will have to do very well to get someone better than how Sheehan is doing atm. There is a big risk that they'll get someone from Europe, who looks just great on paper, his team look great on youtube, all the usual suspect are besides themselves with delight, but when it comes to the hard graft of the Championship, he can't beat Derby mid-week in the rain.

And yes, the Derby game. Do I want to see that often? No. Is it OK once in a while against stubborn opposition who defend well and don't plan on anything else? Yes. And that style of play is a useful tool to retreat into to close out the end of a finely balanced game.

And the new guy probably won't be able to swear properly.

If anyone's interested, we're 6th in the current form table, last 6 games. We're 4th for the last 4 games.

Tbh with the comments on here and the other site and our play ( generally and esp recently ) since AC arrived I'm gobsmacked that the no's are so high. To those I'll just add " be careful what you wish for "

It's a difficult one if I'm honest, voted no in the poll but if performances carry on like they did last night he's certainly not doing himself any harm. OK Plymouth were gash but you can only beat what's in front of you, and we really should have had 8 or 9 goals last night. With a decent transfer window in the summer and hopefully better players in the squad he may become a good fit for us. At least last night we saw a manager shouting, pointing and encouraging players, at times it looked as if had ants in his pants. Excellent performance though, apart from ,at times, our woeful finishing.
I'm the same voted no. Look it takes 1 bad game come Saturday and knives are out. Me included. That's not right for me to do that, I know. But this season hs been a slog. But.... Look someone pointed out on this forum that one thing Sheehan has done that a manager at our club has not done in a while. He sets up teams to get a result. Basically Williams, Martin's had 1 way. Sheehan seems to understand we need to change. I actually think that's something that went over my head. If I'm honest, maybe we need to get away from being 1 style. And be more expansive. If he keeps proving this then maybe he is onto something. For me the next 5 games will tell me more. Part of me is saying go out and get a flashy European manager, but other half is saying maybe we have the person we need. I'm glad I don't make the decisions

As I mentioned I voted no. Still on the fence. I don't want to get carried away with last night's results. I understand he set up not to lose against Leeds. Fab. But though he admitted himself, Derby was not good. There was a lot of factors in that game, yes. But I hope last night was his way of saying that he leant form putting out a negative team. I think cos we have had managers from Williams, Duff and Yes Martin. We are all looking for a step up. Maybe Sheehan doesn't have the sparkle of Laudrup. But Rogers didn't. And look what happened. It's difficult decision.

As far as a flashy European manager goes as I said on another thread what would we all have done if Van Nistleroy had thrown his hat into the ring pre Sheehan, with the work he did with PSV and with Piroe we'd all be creaming ourselves and now he's stunck the place out at Leicester and they can't wait to get rid. AS admitted that he and the players prob got it wrong v Derby but how many of our previous managers would have put their hands up...none

It's a bad trate of mine. With players and managers. Put a European location on their nationality that is non English and have a player where a hair band and slick back hair and I automatically think they are stars and the next big thing 😂😂. Joking aside. I like many want to see growth. I fear we will end up getting rid of Sheehan come Xmas next year. But it might be the case he is the man. Who knows. It's a gamble either way.

4-2-3-1 has been played to death. Results matter. A positive mental attitude is needed more by some than others, thats life as we know it.
