Far from it as many on here will tell you.#thevoiceofreason.![]()
Anyone who says they wouldn't take 7th spot after 5 games is either lying or just a bit daft.

As usual all bit over reaction from certain fans. Chill out people. We are not suddenly going to be Real Madrid over night and anyone who is comparing Sheehan to Williams, Martin etc are mad. Plus really.... Saying we will be like Cooper team... Ummm... No.. Other than the taking foot off the gas today we was good. Yes not enough shots and needed more Urgency, but chill peeps. If you are rattled now god help you when we go through a rough time.

We've had enough games under Sheehan now to know what we are going to get. There isn't going to be any overnight transformation. I hate comparing to the past, but you could see pretty much straight away the playing styles of Martinez/Rodgers and Laudrup and the buzz they generated. I can't help but find us still boring to watch, I find our style of play very basic compared to the names mentioned above. As usual all bit over reaction from certain fans. Chill out people. Difference being those managers came into a side built on some very good work from others. Both those managers, came in with a real core of players already here. We've had enough games under Sheehan now to know what we are going to get. There isn't going to be any overnight transformation. Sheehan is the best manager we've had in a very longtime.Difference being those managers came into a side built on some very good work from others. Both those managers, came in with a real core of players already here.
Sheehan hasn't had that at all. We'd been going backwards at a rate of knots for years.

Rome wasn't built in dayThe 2007-2013 era is gone. It was a moment in time, an absolutely incredible time, but it's gone. We were ahead of the curve back then, but football has moved on since. That period is never coming back. Accept it, move on, and get behind what we're trying to do now. It is infinitely better than anything we've seen in the last 5-6 years. We are seeing progress. Give it time.
I personally don't think the football is infinitely better than the last 5-6 years, I still find us a boring watch. But I am a middle age person that probably values entertainment over results now. Yesterday I sat in my chair wishing I was at home because nothing happened until the first goal. It grinded me the slowness of our game, we are at home and we are not taking the game to the opposing team, we are happy to have a low tempo sparring match. I am just thankful for Inoussa yesterday, without him it would have been a watching paint dry performance. My biggest concern with Sheehan especially the home games so far is we are not creating nowhere near enough, I bloody hate conservative football even if the results are better, I have played sport to a decent level in the past and always had attack minded coaches (thank god), made sport fun to play and to watch. The 2007-2013 era is gone. Gazza played sport at a decent level in the past and he can barely form a coherant thought.
We're not in Kansas any more...Sheehan has done a decent job so far this season, but if you’re looking for exciting, free flowing football you’re probably in the wrong place.
And if we’re all honest with ourselves, haven’t been since Laudrup left. Clinging on to a mostly mythical ideal that in reality only existed for less than a decade. After which we became just another lower level Premier League club and then just another Championship club. We're not in Kansas any more...
