Go for it Dicky, you'll never ever be thirsty again :D

What is decent in the Lidl & Aldi beer world, Dicky / Max?

I don’t tend to buy from there but am willing to speculate.

The IPAs and craft lagers are decent

Far better bang for your buck than the other supermarkets IMO. Same goes for the wines too.

I tend to buy Belgian beers from Aldi . They're not for everyone but I like them and they're competitively priced given they're in large bottles.

There was a time in my life when I worked for a major brewery. On any given day one might be ambling along a corridor and be suddenly hauled into a beer taste test. Bloody wonderful job, that.

Cannot beat lidls wine and beer on price. I know that I am in a privileged position as Wales has capped the price in alcohol. I buy wines for half the price to what marks and Spencer charge and taste so much better.

At the moment the "stubbies" are superb value.
Argus at Lidl, Brasserie at Aldi.
Both ÂŁ5 for 10x250ml bottles.
Pour 2 into a pint glass and look at the life you get! The French know a thing or two about brewing.

Some mentioned the wines, I second all that has been said.

Noted, I shall give them a try.

No Idea Coops to be honest.

I wonder what the job interview questions will be. Something like: “How many kinds of beer did you ever try and how can you prove that?”. Honestly, when I see such job offers, I always think it’s not real, or it’s not as simple as described in the article because journalists like to change things a bit, so they look more interesting.

Both have decent beers and wines. Lidl is a bit more hit-and-miss than Aldi for wine. Some of its lower end are a bit shocking but some real gems (excellent premium Chilean and NZ wines) and the wine tour short term offers they have really have some excellent wines at low prices.
