Please take the jab, just like I've done. It will protect you, but it will also protect your family and friends from not getting it. It's not perfect but it's very good at protection, and I don't understand why you wouldn't want to take it. (Were you vaccinated for measles and mumps when you were a school kid? How is this different?)

We need as many of the world's population to attain some form of immunity as quickly as possible. There will be many different views on how this should be achieved and there is no doubt in my mind that some will see the way vaccines have been rolled out across the world has not always been equitable. However, it is a bit like how foreign financial aid is given, and we've all seen stories about how money destined for those most on need in some of the world's poorest nations has been squandered by corrupt leaders.

I rationalise our approach in similar fashion to the advice we are all given each time we fly. If oxygen is needed, fit your own mask first before helping others. The quicker countries like the UK can dampen down the virus, the quicker we can help other countries.

Just my own opinion.
