Off in two weeks for seven days, might take a trip or two down Oxwich with dogo Then perhaps Llangennith for a few days...

Having a long, long weekend down in St. Ives. Walking on the beach, breeze through the hair, shorts weather, an afternoon IPA or two and sharing a pasty with my wife. Our island is amazing.

A couple of days out to the horse racing (Epsom Derby, Oaks, French Derby, Ascot Gold Cup, St Leger), a week in Cyprus for 99% guaranteed sun and a few long weekends in the Stockholm archipelago. The best day of the summer will be our first away game wherever that is.

Just heading back on the train to Valencia via Madrid after spending five wonderful days' holiday in my favourite Spanish city, Cádiz to celebrate my **th birthday.
We booked an apartment right in the historic centre next to the fabulous central market so I could go and buy fresh fish every day and cook it back at the apartment. We had red tuna and scorpion fish a couple of days ago. Lush.
Highlights included a flamenco show in the backstreets of Jerez, tapas lunch at Bar Casa Manteca as featured on the Rick Stein programme (see below) and the match yesterday between Cadiz and Huesca (4-0). If you've never been, try and get there once in your life.

Shed load of us off to Benidorm for my 60th in October. Never done Benidorm, suffice to say I'll be saying my goodbyes on here just before as I envisage coming home in a box !!

Cheers, yep have heard. We've a few veteran Benidorm travellers so hopefully be fine.

Also heard from a few different people who’ve been there of late that the bouncers in the pubs and clubs are very thuggish and are more than happy to dish out serious beatings. Dealing with drinks is never easy, but apparently it’s become quite violent out there.

Off to Lanzarote at the end of July, never been there before.

Staying in Los Poscillos which is apparently quite quiet but a couple of miles from Puerto del Carmen which is meant to be a bit livelier.

Er indoors and I have booked to go to Rhodes in July. Wifey doesn’t do heat and she booked this despite me telling her it’s going to be roasting out there.

We’ll go away later in the year, I’d like to do some kind of tour either around Spain, maybe Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Cadiz or the Basque Country and coast or maybe Croatia, fly in to Pula or Split and go down the coast to Dubrovnik.

A few years back we were in Rapallo about 40 minutes north of Sestri Levante, well worth a look, especially as you can take a boat trip over to Portofino. stunning.Enjoy.
