• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Are the players giving everything?

It’s only a million if he delivers success.
That's probably true, but looking at the table, if he's a failure we're in huge trouble.
A massive gamble under the circumstances. All managerial appointments are a gamble but this one is bigger than any since Bradley.

Yes, a huge gamble. I’d like to see the decision making process.

Or maybe they are afraid of the rollicking or getting dropped for not sticking to the plan....too much overcoaching and istrucruin to play by numbers in all sports removing players instincts and ability.

I wonder if today the players werent busting a gut in order to put up 2 fingers to O'Dea a coach they had no respect for?
If that was the case and players were deliberately not busting a gut the only ones they’re actually putting two fingers up to and showing no respect for are the fans. And any player that did that I want gone from the club. Don’t care who they are and if it means we play under 21s in their place.

So let’s hope that is absolutely not what happened.

Spot on

I wouldn't say we didn't want the result today, more that tactically we are all over the place. Plus the players know he was on his way out and maybe they have lost all faith in the Sheehan/O Dea era tactics. It ea very much a end of Williams days feel to it. Players could see writing on the wall.

I can’t see that being the case. Matos was in the stands and there’s a saying about first impressions counting. I’m with you, any player who deliberately downs tools needs kicking out.

This is more like it. Our starting XI, shape and tactics were all over the place.

Have you been watching us this season.. they can't be bothered in the night games, clear as day.. and today they're happy to pick up their pay check.. some players have the mentality to improve, some don't give a f*ck, way of the world

Well I would have thought the same re Matos.

There have been a few times this season where they just don’t look like they much care though. And that post from Benson doesn’t scream squad togetherness to be honest. Hopefully it’s only him and we can just get rid.

Benson for me has screamed self entitlement player from day 1. His post has shown me a player who thinks he is better than he is. He has shown very little to be given any opportunity. Players like this can do one.

All the players who have played look like they are giving a normal amount and there is no sign of laziness or players not caring. I am more worried by their talent than their effort and if any more than one or two have shown they are anything out of the ordinary for this league. Especially the players in attacking positions.

The reality is, football is a confidence game and these boys look shot of it at the moment. That’s what I saw today more than downing tools. You can see they care. After the first goal, Idah got a hammering from Burgess (I think) for not challenging for the ball.

Effort is the one thing I’d say we’ve not been short of under Sheehan.

Todays performance reminded ne of the Cardiff game under Duff totally unacceptable.

Not a single yellow in a 3.0 battering says it all.

If it were not for Burgess and his 2 blocks plus a sitter they missed it could easily have been 6.

No way the players gave everything today looked to me as if they couldn't give a toss.

Yep. 100%. Think they have started to lose confidence. Again it was same under Williams. He kept telling them what he is doing will work and they lost faith. The efforts are there but confidence is gone. Burgess had a go at Idah for not stopping the first goal 🙏
