Are the players giving everything?

Seems to be a topic ex player Robbo has come out and criticised the effort from the squad of players, you can’t disagree with it.

Then to top it off Manuel Benson comes out with a stupid gif on his social media page.

Managers will always be the fall guy but the players need to take a big responsibility, I hope Matos has the balls to come in and sorts this out and doesn’t stand for any passengers in the team.

Are they good enough.
We have signed players from L1, young untested players from abroad amongst others.
I think the expectation from fans was too much in the summer and people got carried away with our transfer window......some people saying we had a superb window!

Reality has hit but are the players capable of more than we are seeing? I believe so.
It doesn't help when we have our top scorer on the bench because the man at the helm picked his man over him.....sums our club at the moment.
Too many people looking after themselves rather than the football club.

Benson should be sent back as soon as possible for that to be honest. It’s not acceptable.

On top of which, his performances since he arrived suggest a period of self reflection should be in order. Quietly, without social media.

Some of them are far too easy to down tools and hide behind struggling coaches when they start to come under pressure.

I remain absolutely convinced that the mess of the last three seasons is as much on players as it is coaches.

All opinions and that's what we are all on here for. I agree to some extent about players and hiding. But to be fair and no offense meant, you are one of many posters on this forum who keeps banging the drum that we have a weak squad at every opportunity. At present time you have a stronger argument than I do based on our circumstances. But I hope for you, me, the fans and the clubs sake that you are wrong.

There is a total lack of personal pride in their performances.
I've had so many discussions about they do what they are told in tactics.
I always counter if the ball is there to be won, win it don't give the opposition acres of the pitch to work in.
It does seem as if it's not in my zone or responsibility attitude.

Or maybe they are afraid of the rollicking or getting dropped for not sticking to the plan....too much overcoaching and istrucruin to play by numbers in all sports removing players instincts and ability.

I wonder if today the players werent busting a gut in order to put up 2 fingers to O'Dea a coach they had no respect for?
