Are we really short of players?

I can’t see how Bennet, Ogbeta, Whittaker, Joseph, Garrick, Cooper or Lloyd make us a worse side than we currently are. I can certainly see a wily manager sculpting something creative and generally better out of a squad with that lot in it. We must be scooping some serious coin by renting out most of these players season after season?
