Unfortunately someone else will probably take a gamble on him. £1m for a loan fee, especially in these challenging times, is barmy. Especially for a player who isn't exactly proven. It shows how out of touch the PL clubs are.

He's 23 years old. Much of his development is already done and it has been evident he is not good enough to play consistent Premier League football but has proven he can provide a significant contribution to Championship sides. For Liverpool it is now simply a case of extracting as much value from his contract as they can before they sell him. Of course they will be seeking the biggest loan fee possible.

This isn't comparable to the case of Brewster where he was far younger and developing him with the potential to see him break into Liverpool's first team would have been the aim.

To be fair to Dwight, I think that's absolutely spot on. Liverpool want as much money for him now as possible in case he doesn't have much sale value in January/next summer. If he does well on loan and generates a large transfer fee in the future, then all the better for them.

Loan fee confirmed as 1.2M plus wages covered so yeah the 3M total sounds about right.

I know them wage reports for players online ain't the most accurate but they had Wilson down as earning 60K a week with Liverpool, so with the loan fee and full wages covered it's about right, Brewster according to that page was on 10K a week which was probably why we could afford him

Not necessarily, if nobody else wants him which appears to be the case, Liverpool might waive that fee or drastically reduce it just to get the deal over the line.
