• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

FAW pushing for him to go to Cardiff, Getafe thing looks like it was a wind up, weird thing to do to be fair to them.

I can’t imagine for one second that Bale will go to anyone other than Cardiff or Southampton.

I’d assume that if Cardiff said he could just keep all related merchandise for himself which he could do in a pretty tax efficient manner he’d go there. The only downside would be some chance of a 35 year old journeyman central defender in the championship wanting to make a name for himself and injuring him. That’s less likely to happen at Southampton.

I’m not convinced he could do much at Spurs and he’d want paying to go there.

Cardiff is the obvious choice for him, not sure he will demand all related merchandise for himself though, i know they get a bad rep but I genuinely believe this move isn't about money to him and he will see it as giving something back to Cardiff (not that he owes them anything mind you).

When the Getafe rumours started yesterday though I thought there would be a chance, family settled in Madird, lifestyle etc, but his agent put pay to that.

From a footballing perspective Swansea would be the better fit than Cardiff, but yeah there is definitely the home town bias which would definitely swing things in their favour.

To be honest I don't care too much who he plays for as long as it gets him match fit and in top form for the World Cup. Would love it to be us but as long as he gets to shake off the funk that meant through most of the campaign and Euro 2020 he was a shadow of his former self then its all good imho.

Was at their training complex today and spoke with the manager

Imagine playing them a couple weeks before the WC starts and he gets injured against us 😳🤣

He isn’t going to hack the Championship imo silly move

He was at the FAW HQ and spoke to a former team mate.......

Paul Abba... Whatever his name is reckons the move to Cardiff is "drifting"

Rather see him playing in the Prem but who is going to give him a contract when he is looking to pack it in after the World Cup. I can just see him being motivated for a midweek game at Blackburn not !

He will dictate when he plays, not CCFC.

It would be a massive marquee signing for them at Championship level, I think it would be silly to suggest otherwise - it'll give them a lot of publicity and possibly entice others there.

However...I think in terms of being a huge boost on the field, I'm not so sure. He's a quality player, but well past his best. Not particularly a 'Cardiff City' type of player either. We'll see how long he signs for. If it literally is up until Christmas then it won't make much difference at all. I don't doubt he'll smash one or two screamers in and earn them a couple more points, but I can't see them troubling the very top of the table.

He’s decided to go on holiday now until 16th July

They can't afford any others. He would find Morison a joke. Their team (which, remember, we beat 7-0 on aggregate in front of their biggest home and away crowds) is a joke. If he goes there he will be utterly marginal, but he will get them a lot of publicity and he will, as you say, score a couple of wonder goals. probably from free kicks.

Bellamy had far more impact up there than the nearly shot Ramsey and Bale would ever have. Everything will be about saving it for one last Hurrah at the WC. I hope they have that left in them. After that, they will be shadows.
