Cardiff City relegation party

A fact I knew was that Bury were the only team to have scored 1,000 goals in each division well turns out that BBM was the scorer of the thousandth goal to complete the set for them.

Hard to say how BBM would fare, but if he's appointed it would be the first time they've got a manager that's more possession led than ours. Not necessarily a bad thing but an interesting development nevertheless.

If he's from the Martin or Williams school of possession-led football then they're in for a worse season than any of us could possibly imagine.

Disappointed they've let the utter shite that is El Khazi and Meity go, as they were leeching them beautifully. Also Brian Murphy might be a desperation throw of the dice but I'd rather laugh at Ramsey hopelessly thrashing around and bleeding them dry.

The Master Plan at Cardiff is looking better and better all the time. Looks like it will be Cardiff U21's in League 1 next season. The following recipe worked so well at Rochdale that they got relegated.

PS. Yesterday WOL said they were announcing Buckingham as manager. Today is Murply. Nobody knows wtf is going on lmao

From Wales Online below:

He is impressed by the generational crop of young talent at Cardiff, including Alex Robertson, Yousef Salech, plus a clutch of academy aces headed up by Rubin Colwill, Cian Ashford, Dylan Lawlor, Ronan Kpakio and Isaac Davies among others.

Barry-Murphy is thought to be ready to utilise those youngsters as part of a Cardiff revolution as the club re-sets following relegation into League One.

His only previous spell as a manager was with Rochdale. ........, Rochdale were relegated.

However, the manager won plaudits for the style of play he implemented and the work performed with home-grown talent.

Rochdale are a small club by League one standards. He also kept them up for two seasons. His pedigree isn't great for sure, but that doesn't mean he's certain to fail. Assuming he has a possession led approach he may struggle with a squad that hasn't been built with that in my mind, but the assumption that any possession led manager is doomed to failure doesn't stand up to examination. One thing is true is that a highly principled approach without pragmatism is a narrower path to success, as Williams found with us but not with County.

Agree, not get ahead of ourselves mind, we have just "poached" a centre half from Bolton who's been bumming around the lower league's for years. We are shopping in Poundland to pad our already wafer thin squad out for next seasons assault on the top six. Let's keep this in perspective.

We’re not really shopping in Poundland though, are we?

Our previous signings include a winger for £5.5 million and a midfielder for £3.5 million.

Interesting perspective. Cup half full. Or cup got a hole in it?

Indeed.

The same thought process that saw a minimum of £10-15m pumped in per season as "asset stripping".
