I honestly lost some sleep over this last night. I’ve watched Kirk for years, agreed with some things and disagreed with others (particularly his stance on guns, ironically). Even if you weren’t into politics, his shows and debates were entertaining. I’m genuinely worried where this is all heading…I keep thinking of my 2 year old and wtf the world is going to be like in 15-20 years time if this is the trajectory we’re on.

I’ve no idea why one would go in to politics now, it seems acceptable to a lot of people (if you read social media) that someone should be stabbed or shot because of their views (which aren’t exactly far-right and ‘out there’ most of the time). The number of posts I’ve seen from people, even ones I know and consider to be ‘normal’ with the sentiment of ‘he got what he deserved’ is staggering.

The awfully gruesome video of his assassination is etched on my brain at the moment, I can’t stop replaying it in my head. His poor, poor family.

He obviously didn’t deserve to be killed for his beliefs (if indeed he was, they haven’t caught the gunman yet so no one knows his motive) but the more I read the less agreeable I’m finding this chap. He was of the view that women who were raped should be forced to carry and give birth to any resultant pregnancy. Get raped. Be forced to have the rapist’s baby.

That alone makes him a bit of a cunt in my book but there’s far more than that. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Charlie Kirk was a horrible, despicable person in my opinion. But again, for the avoidance of any doubt, not one that deserved to be murdered.

The bloke had abhorrent views, but as you say he didn’t deserve to be shot for them, if that is why he was shot.

He was a staunch Conservative and Christian. He (IMO) said some sensible things within the trans debate as well as about mass immigration (which has hit our side of the pond too and I know many would disagree with his stance on those). He was pro-life to the extreme and he of course was allowed those views (I think forcing any woman - or is is now ‘birth giver’ - to have a baby, especially if they have been raped, is awful). His attachment to the second amendment reflects what millions of people in the US feel, but again, I think their gun laws are crazy.
I’m pretty neutral in my feelings towards him, but seeing him be killed in that gruesome fashion is utterly depressing…simply because he was having conversations. The human race should be above that by now.

I don't understand how some of you have said that they have watched the video of him being murdered AFTER reading the comments of posters openly saying how it made them feel and then posting comments about him . He was a human being who had views that not everyone agreed with. RIP

Genuinely awful. Would disagree with much of his and Turning Point's politics, but this is truly dreadful as are those who would celebrate this. Equally I am bemused how 'the usual' claim this the killer is a leftist/Democrat. It strikes me this is a professional hit or performed by someone well trained. We may never find out.

Good on you Captain . I don't understand how a person could deliberately click on a link to watch a fellow human, being murdered knowing full well how it affected other posters. I do question that person's reason? Would they watch it, if it was someone that they liked? Or just viewing it as they didn't like that person's views ?

I have. That's not reflection on Kirk but the rabid nonsense from the far left and far right after any such event. His death is reprehensible and have made no comment on him. Rather than those who seek to divide.
