• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

The land of the first amendment and the free speech ultras. But only if you say stuff they like.

"Fascism is characterized by:

A dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived interest of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.

Opposed to communism, democracy, liberalism, pluralism, and socialism, fascism is at the far right of the traditional left–right spectrum."

It would seem to me that Mr Trump ticks an awful lot of those boxes.

Jimmy Kimmel US comedian suspended by ABC for mild comment about MAGA making political capital out of Kirk’s death. Not censorship but financial bullying leads to same thing. So much for free speech.

Edit: Just saw thread title and posted. Then read back a few pages. It’s like turning up late and sober at a friends party that’s been in full flow for hours.

Putin and Corbyn tick an awful lot of the boxes in your 1st paragraph too. Would you class them as fascist as well?

Putin does tick an awful lot of boxes and his rule of Russia could certainly be described as very akin to fascism.

Corbyn has never led a country, so that's a facile comparison. I also find it extremely hard to believe he would have been militaristic if he had got into power given his history and it's also hard to imagine him being on the far right of the political spectrum, given he's, you know, pretty far left?

I suppose Putin isn't your text book fascist, he just uses fear and control rather than a mass fascist movement.

You are correct Jack, Corbyn has never led a country. From statements that he has previously made, I just said that I believe that he ticks an awful lot (not all) of the boxes in your 1st paragraph.

It's very difficult to come to an usumption when there are so many words to describe a fascist in a post. Lots of people tick none of the boxes, lots some and hopefully none all of the boxes. Unfortunately the world that we live in likes to call people names if they might only tick 1 box.

That's quite funny.
