I've just read this, and I'm absolutely astonished it could get this far, lives ruined, shocking stuff.

This whole episode is an utter disgrace. I sincerely hope those postal workers affected are properly compensated. Paula Vennells deserves prison time for overseeing this scandal

Agreed. Obviously there will have been postmasters who've dipped their hand into the till over the years, but for those in charge not to properly investigate when 700 postmasters were found to be doing so just as new software was introduced should be criminal. Ironically I wonder how much money went in her pocket for using that software...

Post Office helpline was lying to the postmasters who were phoning up saying there were problems and the helpline told them no one else was complaining when they knew there were loads of problems being reported by other postmasters.

This is well worth a listen to.

So it appears that the boss of the Post Office, who instigated proceedings against the 39 workers who were taken to court, over alledged fraud, has said shes sorry, and then promptly resigned.
I do hope that she will be accountable, for this shit storm, surely she cant just walk away.

This.
Should be stripped of any pension/pay off.
And those affected now deserve to live like millionaires, never mind 10/20 k compo. Lives have been ruined. Must be close to the biggest miscarriage in British justice history.

Couldn't have put it better myself Saint. If this person is allowed to walk away scot free, and without any repercussions, I'd be amazed.
